Patrick was one of those icons who we somehow all took for granted would always be with us.
I grew up as a fan, and was later gifted the privilege of becoming a colleague and friend, working with him for many years on βAmerican Dad!β, βFamily Guyβ, and βTedβ. He was that rare actor who could take any bit of dialogue and elevate it, making a good writer sound great, and a great writer sound masterful. He was also as humble as they come. I remember exchanging emails with him a number of years ago when he was beginning day 1 of a new film. He commented to me that he always walked onto a new set feeling like the biggest novice there. My stunned reaction was the same as anyoneβs would be. I said, βPatrick, if you feel that way, the rest of us are screwed.β We have lost a legendary actor today, and for many of us, a good friend. He will be deeply missed by the entire planet.
Leave it to Apple to make a big deal about releasing a $3000 laptop with a touch screen (which Windows systems have had for what, 20 years?) and STILL not include Apple Pencil support.
Man 2026 is being a brutal year for losing cool people. Walter Koenig (most known for Star Trek's Chekov) died on Sunday, too. :(
Quick reminder that Harry Houdini died on Halloween 1926, 100 years ago, following a performance and subsequent hospitalization in Detroit. His death was unrelated to the performance. He was 52.

Happy National Kangaroo Awareness Day β Celebrating Some of Animationβs Most Memorable Kangaroos!
Did you ever notice how people always share touching summaries about the recently deceased, but almost never share touching summaries about people who are still living? Am I weird for thinking we should maybe do better celebrating the living?
Time to remember that inflatable kangaroo costume that came out a couple years ago and was somehow sold out like a month before halloween. Too many closeted pouch enthusiasts.
I had no idea Eva Marie Saint (pictured here in 1951) was 102. She was in several films, notably North by Northwest. Unfortunately she was added last week to the very large list of well-known film folks that we lost in 2026. :(
I've heard rumors about the plans for coyote world conquest, but didn't know they were already staking out territory.
(In all seriousness, kind of an interesting place, look it up in Wikipedia!)
I really need to start recording who does the motions on these. While MMD overall seems to have tapered off, there's still a great community still dragging everyone forward.
