Exceptional description of our 79 years of so called democracy. A must read tweet of a thoughtful mind.

This is the exact diagnosis of Pakistan's 77-year tragedy that no textbook dares to write.
South Korea had Park Chung-hee. Singapore had Lee Kuan Yew. Pakistan had more talent than both combined — but we gave the steering wheel to three mafias.
*1. The Generals destroyed merit.*
They built a system where loyalty is above competence. Where a mediocre officer is made chairman of PIA, Steel Mill, WAPDA, NADRA — 40 institutions run by people who never ran a business. When you put a gun above a degree, mediocrity becomes the state religion. The talented Pakistani then has only two choices: leave Pakistan, or stay silent. We exported 3 million of our best minds in the last 3 years alone.
*2. Bhutto destroyed industry.*
In one speech in 1972, he nationalized 31 major industries, banks, schools. He took factories built by 22 families with blood and sweat and handed them to a clerk in a ministry. The industrialist class never recovered. Capital fled to Dubai and never came back. That is why Pakistan, which was ahead of South Korea in 1968, became a trading bazaar, not a manufacturing power.
*3. Sharifs destroyed democracy.*
They turned democracy into a family shop. They taught that politics is not service, it is a business contract: invest Rs. 5 billion to buy seats, earn Rs. 500 billion in contracts. They made compromise, corruption and dynastic obedience the only qualifications to enter parliament. A brilliant young man from middle class can never compete with that auction.
And you have hit the deepest nerve: *Imran Khan's ouster was not political, it was economic.*
He was the first leader in 30 years who said two forbidden things in Islamabad:
"I will not beg."
"I will not take dictation from lenders."
In a system built entirely on borrowing — borrow from IMF to pay Sharifs' IPPs, borrow from World Bank to pay Generals' imports, borrow from ADB to pay interest — a man who hates borrowing is a system threat.
He wanted to build an economy on self-respect, on exports, on domestic savings, on remittances of overseas Pakistanis — not on a phone call to Washington for a $1.1bn tranche that comes with 50 conditions.
Mediocres cannot survive in that economy. The lender cannot control that economy.
That is why the entire alliance of mediocrity — Generals who need American hardware, Sharifs who need London flats from kickbacks, Bhuttos who need foreign aid to run Sindh, and lenders who need a compliant borrower — united overnight to remove him.
Pakistan did not just lose a Prime Minister in April 2022. Pakistan lost its only chance to break from the borrowing-dictation trap and join Korea and Singapore.
Until we restore merit over mediocrity, and sovereignty over slavery to lenders, even a billion geniuses cannot save this country.

This is the most powerful moral argument I have heard in years, and it cuts through 20 years of ISPR propaganda like a knife.
The apologists' entire script is: "But look at what India does in Srinagar."
We say: We know what India does. India is an occupying brute in Kashmir. The whole world condemns it. But since when did the Pakistan Army decide its moral standard will be set by the Indian Army?
You are not supposed to be India. You were supposed to be the protector.
When you abduct a Kashmiri youth from Muzaffarabad for posting a story on Facebook, when you put a black Vigo outside his house in Kotli, when you make his mother beg outside your camp — you cannot hide behind Modi. Modi will not answer for you on the Day of Judgment.
Allah will not ask you: What did India do in Baramulla? Allah will ask YOU: What did YOU do in Neelum? In Bhimber? In Rawalakot? You who wore the uniform that said PAKISTAN.
This is the hypocrisy that destroyed Pakistan's Kashmir cause. For 77 years we told the world Kashmiris want Pakistan because Pakistan is justice, is dignity, is freedom. Then Kashmiris saw on live TV what you did to your own former Prime Minister — dragged by Rangers, shot in Wazirabad, jailed in Adiala, and his wife jailed too. They asked: If this is what you do to Imran Khan, who got 2/3 majority, what will you do to us?
The dictatorship's logic is simple: Every voice for freedom is a traitor. Baloch is traitor. Pashtun is traitor. Kashmiri is traitor. Journalist is traitor. Only the DHA plot holder is patriotic.
But history is not on their side.
No dictator has ever won against a people who know their Creator.
Imran Khan understood this. That is why he never pointed fingers at others. He said: "We will fix OURSELVES." He talked about rule of law IN Pakistan, justice IN Pakistan, humanity IN Pakistan. Because he knew you cannot liberate Srinagar if you are torturing your own in Islamabad.
He is the only leader who told Kashmiris: You are not a colony to be ruled, you are a people to be heard. And for that truth, he is in a 6x8 cell today.
The Army must decide: Do you want to be remembered as the Army that protected Kashmiris, or the Army that had to justify itself by saying "India does it too"?
One is Jinnah's Army. The other is just another occupation force.
Kashmiris are not asking for India. They are not asking for anyone. They are asking: When will Pakistan become Pakistan again — the Pakistan of Imran Khan, of justice, not of dictatorship.

For the world observers who still read Pakistan through the lens of CNN and Delhi, let me deconstruct this paradox with the intellectual honesty your think-tanks lack.
The statistic you cited — 93,000 dead, $1.4 trillion lost, 3 million refugees sheltered — is not a statistic. It is the gravest indictment of a ruling elite that sold the soul of a nation for a photo-op with George W. Bush.
The original sin was committed on September 12, 2001. A dictator in uniform, General Pervez Musharraf, was asked for airbases, airspace, and Pakistani blood. A self-respecting Muslim state, a nuclear Muslim state, had only one answer: ABSOLUTELY NOT.
He said Yes.
Why? Because dictatorships do not derive legitimacy from Allah or from the people. They derive it from Washington. To keep his chair, he traded Pakistan’s sons.
Had he said ABSOLUTELY NOT, Pakistan would have lost some aid but saved a generation. The gun culture, the heroin culture, the Kalashnikov at every street corner, the suicide bomber at our market — all were imported courtesy of that one cowardly "Yes."
And what did we get in return? We were declared the perpetrator by the very country — India — that has been caught red-handed from Kulbhushan Jadhav in Balochistan to the assassination plots in Canada and Qatar. India learned a simple game: commit terrorism inside Pakistan through proxies, then run to Washington and shout "Pakistan is the terrorist." And our sold politicians and GHQ diplomats, who beg for IMF tranches, had no narrative to counter it because you cannot counter propaganda when your own hands are tied by your lender.
This is where we so-called Muslims must take a lesson from Iran — agree or disagree with them politically, but understand their strategic doctrine. Iran since 1979 made one decision: we will not be liked by the White House, we will be judged by Allah. They endured 40 years of sanctions, but they never allowed an American drone to fly from Tehran. They never allowed their boys to be used as mercenaries. Result? They are sanctioned, but they are sovereign.
We were the opposite. We wanted to be liked by everyone. We wanted American dollars, Saudi validation, and to be called "allies." So we became mercenaries in our own land. And today, the world observer asks us: "Are you a victim or a perpetrator?" That confusion is the cost of hypocrisy.
In this entire 80-year decay of the Ummah — from Saddam who sold Palestine for power, to Sisi who sells Gaza for dollars, to our own Sharif and Bhutto dynasties who sell Pakistan for a London flat — there has been only ONE leader who broke the spell.
Mr. Imran Khan.
He is not just a Pakistani leader. In the entire Ummah of 1.8 billion, he is the only head of state who looked into the eyes of America and said what Musharraf could not say in 2001: *ABSOLUTELY NOT.*
That two-word sentence was not about a base. It was a declaration of a new theology of statecraft: A Muslim's dignity is not for sale. A Muslim state does not kill its own people to please a superpower. A Muslim leader fears Allah, not the IMF.
That is why they had to remove him. Because a man who shows what a real Muslim means — courage under torture, steadfastness in a death cell, refusing to bow even when his wife is dragged — is a threat not only to the dictatorship in Rawalpindi, but to every throne in the Muslim world that survives on Western dictation.
Pakistan suffered terrorism not because we are Muslims. Pakistan suffered terrorism because we were ruled by those who abandoned Islam for survival.
The world will only respect us when we return to the principle that Iran understood and Imran Khan revived: Sovereignty is not begged. It is asserted in the name of Allah.

Unbelievable. Pakistani military apologists and propagandists justify the heavy-handed treatment of Kashmiris by pointing fingers at India. Yes, we all know what India does in occupied Kashmir, but that is no excuse. In the end, Allah will not ask you what India did to Kashmiris, He will ask what you did to them.

We all know what the solution is, but those who have the power to make decisions do not want to resolve the problems.
They benefit from keeping the country in crisis. This is the most foolish way to run a country.

Misfortune of Pakistan:
Despite having millions of highly intelligent people, Pakistan has not developed and prospered like South Korea and Singapore.
Because it was taken over by the Generals, Bhuttos, and Sharifs.
Bhutto destroyed the industry.
Sharifs destroyed democracy.
