The Israeli military is bombing Rafah, the most densely populated area in the world, while Americans watch the Super Bowl. This is intentional. This is genocide. We're demanding the world watching the #superbowl turn their eyes to #Rafah. #alleyesongaza #CeasefireNOW

100 days Hundred days of losing, suffering, pain, fighting to survive and showing the RAW realities to the whole world. With no lie, with no filters. I showed the whole world the meaning of being Palestinian living in Gaza Strip. I showed you how we love the life and how we love our beloved Gaza. I showed the reality of the most brutal occupation ever. No one will bring me back the people I lost and my mental health which actually was destroyed years before this war. Free Palestine🇵🇸

Read this sentence. Then reread it. Then ask yourself how anyone is ok with this level of human suffering.
More than 10 children per day, on average, have lost one or both of their legs in Gaza since conflict erupted three months ago - @Save_GlobalNews Lifetimes of pain management and medical care will be needed savethechildren.net/news/gaz…

Parents of the world. Today, a father went out to buy his child some biscuits. On his way back, he found his house bombed. His family got killed. This is the biscuit the father bought. It’s stuffed with date. He tried to put in the hand of his dead child. The child’s name was Firas. I can see it written on the shroud. Firas loved biscuit stuffed with date.

Earlier this year I read Anuk Arudpragasam's The Story of a Brief Marriage. The opening pages are harrowing, vivid, and hard to get through: detailing a child's amputation, without anesthesia, in a warzone. I keep thinking about the 1000 children in Gaza who underwent this.

You can read this whole excerpt, and more of the book, online. You can read the whole thing if fiction is a good tool for you to process, understand, empathize, like it is for me. This book is set in a different war, but the horrors are so similar, rendered in grueling detail.

I hope if you read this it makes you even think a little bit about what's happening, about what else you can do. Contact your representatives. Give where you can. Speak about what you're seeing, what we're all, undeniably, seeing. This genocide has to end.
