BPD crashouts are largely because they worry about the social punishment of a misdemeanor exponentially increasing and while this can be easily diffused by being clear most people give into the sadistic urge to hurt another person that badly and basically prolong it on purpose

BPD is the only illness where the symptoms get filed under personality. Depression gets sympathy because it's legible. you're sad, you're in bed, people get it. BPD presents as behavior. you text too much, you go cold, you block someone, you're fine then you're not. All of it looks like choices. So everyone concludes it's your temperament, and temperament doesn't get flowers.
