Can we force all companies to read @PriyamvadaGopal? @Intrepid_Travel thinks racial subjugation, systemic violence, political repression, engineered famines resulting in millions dead & the systematic extraction of wealth that reshaped global inequality, is charming apparently

Confirmed that @yrf’s #War2 has zero scenes in expanded ratio. It makes the whole purpose of @BFI @IMAX viewing mostly redundant (you’ll have scale but not immersion) & means you’re probably better off viewing it in a @Dolby Cinema. Disappointed in @yrf. CC: @iHrithik @tarak9999

Replying to @HibaNoorKhan1
@HibaNoorKhan1’s The Line They Drew Through Us is a must read & pairs well with @Sathnam’s nonfiction book, Stolen History, to learn more about the facts and Kabir Khan’s film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, to remember that our shared humanity is more powerful than imposed borders. 1/3

Not only is it an engaging story with vivid characters but it also reveals trauma without overwhelming a 9 year old. It smartly states the British role as a deliberate act of violence & self-interest. Most books focus on the horrors of Partition without making clear the cause 2/3

Minor quibbles: 1/ the British role is told not shown, so we don’t feel the horrors of their actions just the consequences 2/ there’s a bit of non-binary teasing (in keeping with the time & culture) but jars when being read today 3/ Lakshmi feels under-served in the end. 5*

@thenitinsawhney love Indian Folk & Classical music but are there Indian albums where the music is owned by the streets & you hear the energy of the crowd. Most has energy from artists but not audience, even live recordings. I’m comparing it to something like De Noite by Erasmo..

open.spotify.com/track/2LkrJ… It feels like an impromptu jam session with a couple of guys, a guitar and makeshift percussion where people nearby would join in, cheer on or dance along.

Even live recordings seem to lose the participation of the Indian audience or the pulse of the street, as compared to Brazil's fusion of live crowd dynamics with genres like Tropicália. Would love to hear some Indian street-infused soul so if you do think of any, please do share

Can you even call yourself a year if @vip_nair doesn’t publish the best of your music? Thank you 🙏🏽

Flew @wizzair yesterday & the seats and floor were covered in nuts. It’s disgusting but, given my child has a nut allergy, also potentially lethal. Asked the flight attendant for a clean up & was told they can’t and instead they asked if my child has their EpiPen on board 🙄
