People born in 1901 lived through two World Wars, Pearl Harbor, the Spanish Flu, and the actual Great Depression by the time they were 43 and went on to create one of the most vibrant periods in American history. Suck it up, buttercup
Millennials realizing they’ve lived through 2 economic recessions, 9/11, a global pandemic, 8 stock market crashes, their jobs being replaced by AI, and probably WW3 before hitting 43

I just came to say we only know what happened to the learjet because the female co pilot kept her shit together long enough to tell air traffic control.

Early ballots in this county are printed on demand, but I think a good question might be "Why wasn't this caught during logic & accuracy testing?"
How/why didn’t this come up during early voting?

I thought with Legend and futures and so on you were trying to be more serious and grown-up so why childish decisions like this?

Google is directly tying access to its education offerings like Chromebooks and Workspace for Education—two markets Google overwhelmingly dominates especially in the United States—to Search—a third market where it has a near monopoly.

is it really so controversial to run some commands on the infra you’re renting ? why exactly is this hacking ?
Your agentic testing platform is to try and probe for security leaks?

what capability did the platform expose that allowed those commands to run in the first place for you to call this malicious? If the platform provided an execution environment, and the agent inspected that environment, then this is totally benign lmao

Following my earlier post about the M5 Ultra 512GB Mac Studio, more than two dozen people asked me to set up crowdfunding for it. I always try to pay my own way, so asking for help at this scale doesn't come naturally. But I couldn't make the numbers work this time, and my loan got rejected after placing the order. I'd love to get one for TensorFold and to see how far we can push it. If you'd like to help towards it, I've put the goal on Ko-fi below. Please only contribute if you're comfortable doing so. ko-fi.com/ashxhart/goal?g=2 Thank you to everyone who's encouraged me to do this, and to everyone already supporting TensorFold. I'm incredibly grateful and will continue to push TF. ❤️

@TheAhmadOsman @0xSero @ivanfioravanti Ash makes TensorFold for free but got turned down for a personal loan so can't buy a Mac M5 512GB to do more work on. What do you guys think? You'd help to promote a crowd fund, wouldn't you?

Structural masonry might be the best canvas for interior design...the texture provides visual interest without 'shouting' over other elements. This kitchen interior design was one of the first things @AustinTunnell and I crafted together...still one of my favorites.

George Lucas didn’t have the balls to tell the actually compelling story here: Padme really was going to die during pregnancy, the Dark Side really is stronger, Anakin becomes a Sith to save her and his children, and he does save them, but after learning of the terrible things he’s done (younglings), she kills herself. That’s a story. Shakespearean. Like Hamlet’s Ophelia. In that version, Anakin had to become Vader for Luke to be born, so that together they could overthrow the Emperor. Suddenly everything falls into place. Instead Lucas has to tell the boring black-and-white version where Palpatine was just lying and there was actually no point whatsoever in Anakin becoming a Sith and Padme just spontaneously evaporates.
Quick Padme rant now that the prequels are trending again. One of the things that bothers me most about Padme and also incidentally exemplifies how she really does fit the progressive, longhoused girlfriend meme is her death. A lot of people simplify her death into "Oh Anakin killed her." To be clear, he did not kill her. The movie explicitly states she was physically fine but died of a broken heart. So this woman has 2 newborn children, but she is so heartbroken over Anakin rejecting the Republic and going to the darkside that she can't even summon the will to live to raise her own babies. Madness. Insanity. Perfect illustration of the liberal adherence to ideology over family.

hate to get all metaphor-y, but there’s a good life lesson in that Florida plane crash people keep asking what the pilots could have done differently once they started losing altitude, and from everything I’ve read, the answer is nothing they were fucked the thing they could have done differently was not fly into a terrible storm in a small plane in life, sometimes there are situations that you can’t really do anything about once you’re in them. the only thing you could have done was avoid the situation entirely

amazing to have such bureaucracy, assign project, NOT put requirements on sources, then complain that sources don't meet said nonexistant requirements then despite saying "does not understand" treat it as "incident" tone with which "does not understand" was said is PALPABLE

The audio clip going around is specifically the part where they knew they were going to die. Pilots being overwhelmed with fear before that point, when the situation is recoverable, is a serious problem. But once they’re doomed and know it, I just don’t see any reason to critique. What they experienced for that final minute was basically the most terrifying thing any human can experience. There is no right or wrong way to respond. You’re at the end. Cry or pray or sit in horrified silence. Those are pretty much your only options. Choose any or all. It won’t change what’s coming.

Request for buyout
there’s a 59-year-old, family-owned Michigan machine shop that’s about to go under. 156 jobs, 152k sq ft of turning, broaching, heat treat, grinding and electroplating capacity they lost a big contract after investing in a new line someone should buy it. I suspect nobody will:
