I'm a bit breathless so I will let the ASA speak for me. Whew! I'm so grateful for this award in honor of scholarship in service to social justice.
ASA extends heartfelt congratulations to Vilna Bashi Treitler @vtreitler, 2020 recipient of the Cox-Johnson-Frazier Award. asanet.org/news-events/asa-a…
“one of the most accomplished, influential, and internationally recognized scholars working in immigration and transnational studies”
This was funny!
So, last night, I re-created a classic personality quiz. (Thanks @jananiu for the inspiration!)
Based on your academic life, “which Disney Princess are you?”

I'm so proud of my dear friend Dr. Kesha Moore, who won a place in the Culture of Health Leaders Institute for Racial Healing, an 18-month leadership experience funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She's #SocAF!

This is your reminder that in 2015, #LakeithSmith (a 15-year-old), was sentenced to 65 years in prison for the death of his friend who was murdered by an Alabama police officer.
Lakeith is now 23, still in prison, & yes- you read the first sentence correctly.
This is food for thought for real. EF struggles are serious business. What does the #AcademicChatter crew think?
I've been seeing some posts from well-intentioned faculty about eliminating all deadlines in their classes. I study #ExecutiveFunction, #stress and #mentalhealth in college #students, and I'm here to tell you this will hurt the students you are trying to help. . . 1/buckle up

If possible PLEASE buy your Girl Scout cookies from a brown baby girl. As a former troop leader, the disproportion amount of sales is HUGE! I know it’s tempting to buy from those selling outside of the grocery store, but it’s hard for US to even get those spots.
YouTube mixes jams way better than Spotify. Yep, I said it.
Tip o' the hat to @KoreyTillman_ who let me know what's up.

2017 resolutions: Getting a NO Committee buff.ly/2GctvNa
Saying "NO" is VERY hard for me. In 2017 I decided to get a "NO" Committee (the original idea of a No Committee is by Dr. @vtreitler, whom I reference in my post).
It worked great! Maybe I should do it again.

Remember when we were told they weren't opposing the teaching of Black history, just "CRT"? And how many dismissed those of us who said these laws were anti-history laws, and anti-Black? Perhaps one day folks will listen to those who know. thedailybeast.com/desantis-b…
Yikes almighty. It's rough out here in these dating streets. nypost.com/2023/01/10/study-…
