Wanjii

Dear H.E. @arnaud_suquet, Rafiki. Balozi. You’ve been far more than an ambassador. Since our very first interaction on the road to the Paris Olympic Games, you’ve been a genuine friend. You embraced sport. You embraced our culture. And, of course… a little bit of sherehe. Eh! 😂 From delivering beautiful speeches in Kiswahili, to exploring every corner of Kenya, you made the Embassy community feel more like home. In a few days, we’ll officially bid you farewell as you return to Paris. No, we won’t cry. We’ll simply find another reason for sherehe. 😂 As you leave, I hope you carry with you the many moments, but let me be a bit selfish and say, I hope you carry sport even deeper in your heart, from our first meeting with CEO Paris @wanjiii, our first photo with @Ferdiomanyala, the sound of tennis balls as we cheered @Okutoyiangella2, the rain-soaked Opening Ceremony in Paris, and the roar for @EliudKipchoge as he paced @EmmanuelMacron during the France Summit. I hope those memories remind you that sport has a remarkable way of opening doors, building friendships and creating moments that last a lifetime. We’ll miss you dearly Balozi. @FranceinKenya was lucky to have you. Thank you for your warmth, your hospitality, and for embracing Kenya so wholeheartedly. Until we say our official goodbyes, let’s play another game of tennis, kick a football around… and, naturally, enjoy one more sherehe. Asante sana, Balozi. 🇰🇪🇫🇷
