For years, lesbians, bi women and trans people have been forced to pay for up to £25,000 of private healthcare before they can access IVF on the NHS, or face giving up their dream of becoming parents. 'This is a giant step towards a world where LGBTQ+ people have the same opportunity as everyone else to build a loving, thriving family of their own.’

ALT Although we won't be hosting the demo tomorrow, you can still help to raise awareness of the issues we intended to highlight. You can tweet using #TransAutonomyNow and #SelfIdNow. If you made any signs for the event, save them for next time - and post them on social media too. We'll share them if you tag us! You could also do things like email your MP to ask them to use their voice to call for trans liberation. Tweeting and emailing people will not bring about meaningful change in the ways we need it, but hopefully it will encourage other people to also get involved. We wanted to feature speakers from a range of organisations, such as @IWW, @LAFA, @TransActual and more. We are also grateful to @QueerCare and many other people for their support. We would still like to encourage people to get involved in these groups, and others. There are so many ways that you can get involved in advocating and demonstrating for trans liberation and autonomy - reach out and see what you can do.
