note-taking software doesn't need to be bloated or slow! (yes this is actual 1x speed 🔥)

Someone built a whole infinite canvas whiteboard plugin for Thymer because why not! This is one of the most fun parts of building malleable software (especially in the agentic age): there seems to be no limit to the cool things people come up with. So many fun plugins already, can't imagine going back to "static" software now!

Note taking apps (/software in general) will become malleable. Instead of bloating apps with every feature under the sun, you bring your own (local) agents and workflows to tweak the last 5% yourself. We've had cool examples of this before, Winamp, Excel, Emacs, etc but extensibility was mostly a power-user feature, and then SaaS pushed almost everything toward fixed platforms. LLMs swing the pendulum back, even for SaaS.

The best API is no API. Instead of MCPs and CLIs, Markdown Mirror will let agents edit state directly through files while the app translates those changes into multiplayer operations behind the scenes. Files as the API.

What if agents could just write to local files and changes show up in a real-time multiplayer web app?
