1. THREAD: THE TWITTER FILES: HOW TWITTER RIGGED THE COVID DEBATE โ€“ By censoring info that was true but inconvenient to U.S. govt. policy โ€“ By discrediting doctors and other experts who disagreed โ€“ By suppressing ordinary users, including some sharing the CDCโ€™s *own data*

๐ŸงตUser frustrations in 2022. Just a few frustrating design patterns that we should be avoiding when designing today: โ€“ Tiny scrollable panes. โ€“ Tiny click targets. โ€“ Unexpected content shifts. โ€“ Mega-menus opening on hover. โ€“ Country selector dropdown. โ€“ Generic error messages.

The mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) are kind of brilliant at a science level. Iโ€™ve had a few people in my real non-Twitter life ask me to explain how it works so Iโ€™m going to try my best here in this thread while Iโ€™m waiting for a patient to show.

This tweet brought to you by my work this afternoon: Q: โ€œWhy does the content not load on this site?โ€ A: Third-party JS! Q: โ€œWhy are all the links on this site broken?โ€ A: Third-party JS! Text and links should not require another personโ€™s JavaScript to work.
