The protesters denounce Hegseth as a key enforcer of the Trump administration’s militarist agenda, accusing the U.S. government of expanding its military presence and preparing for heightened confrontation with China in the Asia-Pacific region. They also oppose the proposed development of PAX Silica, an advanced manufacturing park intended to support artificial intelligence (AI) supply chains, citing concerns over its potential impact on Filipino farmers, Indigenous communities, and the environment.
