I've managed artists and worked at a major label so I'll tell you for free that no promising talent is a "sure banker". If you're building a structured and sustainable label, the numbers have to make sense. It can't be based on hope and public applause alone.
Sometimes the biggest mistake you can make in business is being too rational when you’re standing in front of a once-in-a-generation opportunity. Nothing Peedi is saying here is necessarily wrong. Key man risk is real. Building your entire business around one person can be dangerous. But bro, sometimes you’re standing in front of a one-of-one. One in a million. The kind of talent you might never encounter again in your lifetime. And when you recognize that, you have to be willing to make a bet that might look completely irrational to everyone else. Some of the greatest returns you’ll ever get in life come from concentrating your time, energy and resources on the right people and letting that investment compound. In business, friendships, relationships, everything. I understand Peedi's reasoning completely. But there’s a difference between managing risk and recognizing an extraordinary opportunity. Burna Boy was one of those opportunities.

I never set out to make an original soundtrack for Phoenix Fury. When we were in the whirlwind of pre-production, I figured I’d license a handful of songs and keep it moving. Then I hit a wall trying to license a Nigerian highlife song that fit part of the film’s time period perfectly. I was venting about it, and a friend said, “You’re a musician. Why don’t you get your other musician friends and make it yourself?” So that’s exactly what we did. About five months after we wrapped filming, I flew from Accra to Abuja and holed up in an apartment. The next 2 weeks was almost entirely me and some of my longtime musician friends and collaborators creating the Phoenix Fury OST; thank you @Jarell_Ebuka , CEF Ashanta, Wondamagik, and Queen Rubunu for creating magic for Phoenix Fury in those 2 weeks. Forever in awe of your gifts, fr! A few tracks like Baby Salome featured in this clip were made by other collaborators in Lagos and Accra; @KyrianAsher , NiiQuaye, OSIQUE, thank you for bringing your magic and incredible skill to this body of work. Skiller Beat did a madness producing Baby Salome and Alex Solana finished it all beautifully with his mixing and mastering work on every single track on the album. Making the film was fun but very stressful. Making this soundtrack was a breath of fresh air. It reminded me that music is truly my first love. It came before film, and while it’s not a path I’ve pursued professionally, I’m so grateful I get to have an outlet to express it now through my film work. As we release this film in a few days, we are birthing this OST tomorrow. Phoenix Fury (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) drops October 24th at midnight, in your time zone, wherever you are, on all music platforms. Pre-save it now with the link in my bio. I can’t wait for you to hear what we made. 🎶 #PhoenixFuryOST #OriginalSoundtrack #Nollywood

This is such a ridiculous rent-seeking exercise. Why do you need to renew tint permit? Has the tint expired? Everything is revenue generation

I've worked on enough political campaigns to see the same pattern repeat itself with troubling consistency: candidates with genuine vision losing the public conversation because they confused being visible with being understood. linkedin.com/pulse/why-good-…

Ownership is not a feeling. It's a decision. Most people treat their standards as a response to their environment performing when conditions are good, pulling back when they're not. I've built my entire career on the opposite principle.

The replies to this tweet just hurts my soul. Why do we like to diminish people's success so much? A Nigerian achieves 1m users on an app in 3 days and her fellow citizens are contorting themselves to say it's nothing serious. 3 days!
How long it took these companies to acquire 1 million users: Netflix 3.5 years 1999 Kickstarter 2.5 years 2009 Airbnb 2.5 years 2008 Twitter (X) 2 years 2006 Foursquare 13 months 2009 Facebook 10 months 2004 Dropbox 7 months 2008 Spotify 5 months 2008 Instagram 2.5 months 2010 ChatGPT 5 days 2022 @Shalom_HeyEliy of Lagos Life did it in 3 Days with ZERO ADS/FUNDING in 2026.

Wow! As a Nigerian, that's very strange
In China, many men have to pay a woman's family in order to get married - a practice known as "Bride Price". Could the rising cost of it be why more Chinese men are joining the 'manosphere'? 📺 Watch Asia Specific on YouTube bit.ly/4rIad5N

The furore around this video is why, if you are a politician and you do not have a proper PR person to media train you, you will always fall for political ploys like this. Political communication goes beyond your good intentions; you must know how to navigate platforms.

Too many good candidates with genuine vision are losing elections or losing the public conversation because they think good intentions speak for themselves. They do not.

The gap between what you mean and what people hear is a communications problem, and if you are not solving it deliberately, your opponents are solving it for you.
