I was reading an alphabet book to my daughter. "R" was for rainbow so I started telling her how the gays took the rainbow but we were gonna get it back. And she started saying "GAYS." So cute. Makes all the effort of parenting worth it.
The right is always swinging between schizo levels of transgression and nun-like tone policing (sometimes at the same time) and that's what makes it entertaining but also doomed to underperform
I get a lot of unsolicited advice on storytelling for the emails I write, always from people who don't understand the purpose of the story.
When you are telling a story in an ad, you are trying to get the lead to map their problems and identity onto the protagonist of the story, so they start to believe the solution will apply to them.
An email is much more about pure entertainment in an effort to get the reader to like you, trust you, and read the next email (so you can keep selling to them).
Hosted a baby shower for a friend on Saturday.
I BBQ'ed a ton of sausages. One guy went back for more, and actually had 2 sausages in 1 bun.
Already dying at my own joke, I say:
"Woah 2 sausages, one bun? What is this, Cornell!?"
(silence)
No one gets it.
(more silence)
Anyways, it's crazy how few people read the news these days.
Ultimately you realize that coaching, with the exception of a very small group of professionals, is pointless.
I worked with an amazing coach early on in my journey and it changed my life. For almost 10 years, I've been chasing more experiences like that. But what I've found is that "coach" is a blanket term for "I will give you advice". That's not really what coaching is.
It's not coaching to tell someone they need to create more Meta ads to grow their business. That's advice. Coaching is what happens when the mentor asks "why aren't you creating more ads if you already know you're supposed to?" That's when you confront the deep inner issues that prevent you from doing what is best for you. Very few people are doing this.
Did the hyphenated name rant to a woman with a hyphenated name again.
When will I learn?
Gotta start ID'ing these broads before I achieve escape velocity on my rants.
We all know normies can't detect AI, but a new problem is 110 IQ people calling anything with a few quirks in it AI.
"If this person doesn't think or talk exactly like me, they must be AI."
Been seeing this a lot recently, and it's going to get worse.
Family and business are going amazing and all but the big win of September was getting my Green Card!
In my first week of having permanent residence, I will be:
-Reporting my local convenience stores for SNAP fraud
-Buying more American flags
-Getting an AR
-Soliciting interviews so I can say "Why didn't they just try to come here legally, like I did?"
I love this country and hope I die here (in a long time).
God bless America!
I was stressing over an internal rule (we start sales on Thursdays and go until Monday) until I remembered that I legit just made up one day.
Now I can put off this sale until tomorrow and have a nap.
"Retard" is like autist first base. You're chatting with a guy and he drops it in the first few minutes to figure out if you're a real one. You call something "gay" a few minutes later, and that's when you both know it's on.
Had a weird moment yesterday where a guy met up with for lunch reminded me of another guy I know named "Will" and when I accidentally called him this, it just seemed like I narcissistically project my name onto all men.
Editing dating/relationships shorts in a coffee shop is the final boss of shamelessness.
3 girls sit right next to me as I add the overlay text "All Women Are Whores?"
I just look at them and shrug.
Just found out that the small group my wife and I run has the highest retention rate of the 50+ groups at my church.
Was asked what our secret is.
Obviously I sent the pastor a bunch of affiliate links to courses on email marketing.
What a great example of making an ad for yourself rather than your target audience.
Left-wing females ate this up, but no center-right male connected to this.
It's like if a white person started an ad directed at black people with "sup niggas"
"Fighting poor people on the street" is ridiculous. Could be funny, but that gets boring.
However, if you layer in subtle comments about oppression by the bottom quintile, then someone is laughing at the situation and also thinking "damn, maybe I should fight poor people"
A good "gag" needs to be more than just extreme. It needs truth.
Anyone noticed how wedding culture got out of control? Like be my guest throwing your wedding in the Australian outback or some Japanese safari, but the "they came to our wedding so we need to go to their's" pressure needs to be ignored so we can restore some sanity to this market.
That being said, holy shit I need to get into the wedding biz.
