Srry I keep coming back to this topic but I feel very strongly about it. Currently finishing first year for BOA and my teachers are industry pros, there’s a lot of talk about rates and very single one has told me to raise my prices

Yall r so used to broke, inexperienced, desperate young artists valuing their own work at $10 an hour and taking advantage of them to the point you’ve forgotten there r industry professionals in this world who give themselves a livable wage + a wage that reflects their expertise
To add onto the conversation, my prices are the way they are because I’m also working outside of comms. I work relatively quickly and treat this as a side job, for others it is their main source of income. Pay artists a livable wage ALWAYS.
Oh boo hoo. Look at any freelancer, they don’t have a set salary so prices they set are prices they set. This is standard industry practice. Yall have gotten so use to 50$ comms god forbid someone wants a livable wage. Also replies off can’t even argue with me properly

Throwing my 2 cents in, this is clearly an industry pro who has EXPERIENCE. Look at Riot games artists, senior artist rates can go up to 70$ an hour. Not to mention commercial rights. This is completely reasonable, yall are miserable and don’t understand how stuff actually works.
