🇧🇬 NEW: Bulgaria wants to allow fighter pilots and naval commanders to shoot down hostile drones WITHOUT waiting for ministerial approval.
The proposal comes amid repeated drone attacks on commercial shipping in the Black Sea.
NEW RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:
• Pilots and naval commanders could engage weaponised drones in self-defence without prior ministerial approval.
• NATO’s SHAPE previously raised concerns over Bulgaria’s restrictive procedures.
• The changes have not yet been adopted.
AIR DEFENCE LIMITATIONS:
Air Force chief Maj. Gen. Nikolai Rusev has revealed:
• Bulgaria’s military radars are over 30 years old.
• Low-flying drones remain difficult to detect.
• The first new radar is expected in approximately 18 months.
• Enhanced Black Sea air patrols will continue.
• A US Navy P-8 Poseidon is supporting regional surveillance.
The developments highlight growing pressure on NATO’s southeastern flank as drone threats increasingly affect civilian shipping.

Elon Musk claims that Ukraine allegedly violated Starlink's terms of use and used the system on combat drones.
As someone who was inside the process at the Ministry of Defense, I can say with certainty that this is not true.
In February of this year, whitelists were introduced. Stationary terminals could be registered by both military personnel and civilians.
But for any satellite terminal to work while on the move, it had to be added to a special list and connected to the military Starshield system. Otherwise, no satellite communication terminals in Ukraine would work.
In other words, using civilian Starlink for drone missions was technically impossible. All drone missions that required satellite communication could only be carried out using Starshield.
We are very grateful to the United States and SpaceX for access to critically important satellite communications. Ukraine did not violate the terms of use.

🇺🇦🇱🇹 Lithuania has introduced the X-12 jet interceptor drone, designed to destroy high-speed air targets, in particular the Russian Geran-5, - Militarnyi
Drone has already been tested in combat conditions in Ukraine and is planned to be supplied to the Ukrainian military.
The X-12 is equipped with a turbojet engine and, according to the developers, can reach a maximum speed of up to 700 km/h. The cruising speed is about 350 km/h.
The declared flight range of the drone is 126 km, and the maximum altitude is 10 km. Depending on the configuration and payload, the flight duration can exceed 12 minutes.

Zone 5 Technologies has unveiled the surface-launched Rusty Dagger Block 40 cruise missile, developed for Ukraine. It can carry warheads weighing 45-112 kg and can also be launched from aircraft. For land or sea launch, a solid-fuel booster is fitted to the tail. The air-launched version reaches about 556 km from low altitude and 926 km from medium altitude, while the range of Block 40 from the ground remains undisclosed. #Ukraine
