it’s so weird how hybe acknowledges bts as an indispensable asset for the company, yet they’re still desperately trying to find the next bts and downplay their impact by claiming rookie achievements are just shadowed by bts’s success.
they’ll never prove to investors that they can succeed without bts.

lee jae sang claimed in 2024 that bts wouldn't dominate their revenues anymore, but that never happened and he's just desperate to keep investors. bts's comeback actually brought the highest profit since the company's founding, they always play this game.
as long as bts exists within hybe, investing heavily in other groups won't significantly increase their share of the pie. even if they explicitly try to sabotage bts while bts keeps growing, no group will match bts's success and bts won't be harmed. besides, bts is too big to sabotage or risk, hybe can't afford to lose them anyway.
they aren't dismissing bts as artists, they're just trying to prove they aren't completely dependent on them, which will never happen. bts is too huge, but they still want investors to take rookies as seriously as bts, which is just impossible.
