These days, reading has become gluttonous. People rush through books to meet a goal.
I read until I’m full.
Then I sit with it. Digest it.
I test the book’s ideas against my beliefs, find its echoes in the real world.
I’m not reading to finish. I’m reading to understand.
I think it’s funny how all the Schumer and Jeffries advocates get on here and tell the people who oppose them in leadership that they don’t know enough about politics… but we knew enough to elect Democrats didn’t we? Was that also a mistake?
I love this!!
One healthcare reform I would push for as an internal medicine physician:
When a private health insurer refuses to cover medically necessary treatment and that decision causes a patient harm, the insurance company should face the same medical malpractice liability as the healthcare professionals responsible for treating that patient.
You shouldn’t be able to make decisions that jeopardize someone’s life and walk away without accountability.
apple just announced they can now see every photo and file you share through icloud links, even with end-to-end encryption turned on
starting december with iOS 27.3, anything you share from icloud photos or icloud drive using "anyone with the link" gets scanned by apple
the part they buried in their own support document is wild
apple says the item "is no longer end-to-end encrypted, even if the owner or participants have turned on advanced data protection"
you paid for the encryption. you turned it on. and the moment you share a link, apple turns it off
here's what to check right now:

NEW: House Dems "inundated" w/ calls & emails urging them not to elect Jeffries speaker
One member told @axios they got "300-400" calls in 2 days
Another said "over 500"
A third said "higher" than 500: "It's our No. 1 issue, and it's not close." axios.com/2026/11/06/jeffrie…

For all the talk about Black voters being Democrats’ core constituency, they were somehow surprised by the fury of Southern Black Dems, whose voting rights were just curtailed by SCOTUS.
I guess Black voters are more on their radar when AIPAC uses them to factionalize the base.

Being right years ahead of others isn’t nearly as satisfying as people think. Nobody apologizes for treating you like a crazy. They just come back years later, repeating what you told them as if it’s some groundbreaking revelation because they finally heard it from someone else.
These are the facts
Jon Stewart on Chuck Schumer: “Someone has to meet this moment. You have an opportunity to actually govern. One of the first things you need to do is remove that system of seniority from Democratic politics. It’s a bullshit system and it needs to go. Chuck Schumer fought tooth and nail against half of these fucking people. He does not understand the urgency of the moment and what the future demands”

El-Sayed: "People don't trust our party because too often we're funded by the very same people who fund Republicans... Can we actually cut the cord that we've had to corporate money and start governing like we give a damn about working people?"

Jennifer Welch: “I want to say this Chuck Schumer: we won in spite of you and we will do everything on this channel, everything, to make sure that you are not the Senate Majority Leader. You do not represent us. You’ve made it crystal clear who your loyalties are to. What you did to Angie Nixon, I will never ever forgive you. Quit taking victory laps on Twitter like you won this. Nobody likes you”

As far as I can tell, not a single one of the red state Democrats elected to the Senate is actually a conservative/blue dog Democrat. They're all left of center, some quite a bit. I think if you're denying this you're on some deep cope.

Four years ago, Pres. Biden nominated Scott Colom to serve as a federal judge in Mississippi.
Mississippi Republican Senator Roger Wicker supported the nomination of Mr. Colom. The state's other senator, Cindy Hyde-Smith, refused to do so based on absurd claims.
Mr. Colom reached to Sen. Hyde-Smith to address her concerns and respectfully point out misunderstandings on her part and appeal to her better angels.
Other prominent Mississippi Republicans reached out to Sen. Hyde-Smith asking her to reconsider and support Mr. Colom's nomination.
She still refused, effectively killing his nomination for no good reason.
She's now on the verge of losing her seat to Scott Colom, who would have never been a threat if she had supported his judicial nomination.

One of the biggest dangers for Democrats right now is centrists making up a fake story about why they won and then telling themselves that until they believe it and lose again. That's a big part of what happened to Biden.

The campaign to remove Jeffries and Schumer from leadership needs to start now. And we need all hands on deck. You in?
