I often judge musicals, especially movies, by the criteria of “If this song were cut, would the end product be lesser for it?”
I think #Encanto gets a firm yes for every song. I haven’t felt that about a Disney musical in quite a while.
In particular “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” does such a great job with characterization. You don’t actually learn much about Bruno, but you learn so much about all the characters who are singing about him. #Encanto
I just watched Matrix Reloaded for the first time since it was in the theatre. I enjoyed it more since I knew going in that it’s more of a “no movie here, just vibes” experience, but man that movie is full of some very long scenes.
There are still things I enjoy, but I don't seem to enjoy them for as long. (honestly I think this is my ADD acting up after pretty much being stuck inside for two years)
One of the weird things about working in COVID logistics is that I tend to be a couple weeks ahead of everyone I know on the ‘cancelling my plans’ curve. Of all the things I could have advance knowledge on, this is not a fun one.
#Centaurworld totally pulled off a perfect “oh no, he’s hot” moment, and it somehow wasn’t even slightly comedic.
