As scientists, ground-truthing is so important. Small diff in veg, mgmt histories, & moisture can often get lost in resources like Ecological Site Descriptions. Walking the ground, while learning from those who steward it, is one of the most important parts of the sci process.

Soak in the beauty... The WLC team spent time in N NM & S CO with some stunning landscapes & dedicated stewards. We feel lucky to exp these special places & meet the amazing folks working them every day. Getting grounded & building trust is the 1st step of every project. [1/2]
The champions of the Western Grazing Network, @_NatGLC, are doing the work to truly support land stewards. We are so excited to use our science as part of a toolbox to quantify the good work of folks on the ground. [2/2]
Megan, our superb Soil Science Program Director, spent the day with agricultural educators to speak on soil health in rangelands. Nothing better than digging holes and kicking dirt with rad folks! Many thanks to @usuextension for including us in this workshop!
We've been visiting inspiring stewards across the West. We toured the Dugout Ranch, owned by @nature_org. The working ranch is managed by the Redd family. We feel so privileged to learn from the Redds & researchers working to conserve these stunning desert landscapes.
