Vance is incredibly relatable to Americans with families.
He just got off a long flight with his kids, clearly exhausted and in pajamas.
Elon Musk and Vance are among the most powerful people on earth, yet are single-handedly normalizing children in public.
Incredible.

Leadership is hard. Nobody said it would be easy.
πΊWhen people talk about you, keep leading.
πΉWhen people compliment you, keep leading.
πΊWhen your hard work goes unnoticed, keep leading.
Why? Because we are in the kid business. Kids are the reason schools exist. It isnβt about you or me. Itβs about kids. When things are good, bad or ugly, keep leading.
When we keep showing up to lead, thatβs when success will follow. Thatβs when kidsβ pathways will be redirected. And that is when we know we are changing the world.
KEEP. LEADING.

If you have constructive feedback, itβs not rude to speak up. It's unkind to stay silent.
Honesty is the highest form of flattery. It signals that you respect their ability to handle the truth.
Don't deprive people of the opportunity to learn. Offering ideas is an act of care.

Relaxing is not the only way to recharge. Finding meaning is a source of fuel.
A restorative break doesn't just avoid tasks that burn you out. It adds people and projects that fire you up.
Detaching from stress prevents exhaustion. Attaching to purpose elevates energy.

Recently I was asked how I find the time to still teach lessons in the classroom as a school admin.
The simple answer? I prioritize it.
Itβs not about being the best teacher in the building. Itβs not about having all of the answers. Itβs about being the lead learner. Learn with the teachers! When teachers see that we are equally invested in student learningβ¦
πRelationships deepen
πTrust builds
πIntrinsic motivation grows.
Admins - donβt forget where you started - in the classroom. π€ We were teachers first! Support your teachers by getting in the trenches with them and never asking them to do anything you wouldnβt do yourself. This is leadership.

Teacher retention: if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals.
