The latest WP-CLI nightly uses Composer v2 as its embedded package manager. All package operations are now faster and use less memory. This will hopefully fix OOM issues on shared hosting as well.

Latest nightly has new commands for managing plugin and theme auto-updates. Any testing and feedback is appreciated. Switch to latest nightly with `wp cli update --nightly` to find the commands under `wp plugin auto-updates` and `wp theme auto-updates`.
