One of the saddest things a workplace can do: Take a passionate, talented person who genuinely cares about their work.. Someone who had ideas. Who wanted to make a difference. Who actually gave a sh*t. And turn them into someone crying in the bathroom on a Tuesday afternoon. Someone who's stopped speaking up. Stopped believing in themselves. And is now just trying to survive another week We need to stop normalising workplaces doing this to good people. Your job should never be the reason you're losing yourself.

Chicago has long debated giving CPD broader curfew powers But an examination of how police already use those powers raises a more basic question: What does curfew enforcement actually accomplish, where is it concentrated, and who bears the consequences? blockclubchicago.org/2026/09…

Three months later, this is my last @washingtonpost story — delayed because nearly everyone involved in it was laid off. I am very grateful to newsroom friends who made sure it published anyway, and to brave Roman Mongold and his family for their time. wapo.st/4cNY7Cm

One thing I would love to communicate to rich progressive donors is you have to fund ACTUAL JOURNALISM. All the progressive "content creators" rely on actual journalism done by journalists who are all getting laid off. Please fund journalism not just "our own kind of propaganda."
NEWS: The Democracy Alliance, the progressive donor network that's spent $2bn on causes/think tanks/campaigns, is directing "tens of millions" of dollars into new progressive media. semafor.com/article/05/01/20…
