Commanding heights = resources and relationships
The benefits of abundant intelligence will accrue far outside of San Fransisco.
Spent the last year writing about capital, sovereignty, and the coming reordering of economic power.

Hiring a Principal Software Engineer at @midjourney to help bring up a completely new hardware system :D
If you've shipped real-time software that talks to real hardware (robotics, AV, medical imaging) and want to own the architecture end to end, DM me!

Ultrasound will be adaptive.
Rather than treating the imaging system as constant, new methods estimate imaging parameters from the raw pressure measurements and use the gained insights to improve image quality.
@freynben recently highlighted this nicely in UltraFlex, by estimating the shape of a flexible ultrasound array from the raw received pressure waves while improving image quality.
As ultrasound becomes ubiquitous, it will empower people to be informed about their health and adaptive ultrasound will be key to enable this.
If you’re interested in adaptive ultrasound, Ben’s UltraFlex project is a great example of where the field is going:

🔬Excited to announce our work on "Differentiable Beamforming for Ultrasound Autofocusing." Phase aberration can distort ultrasound images, causing a loss of focus and reduced diagnostic efficacy. Our new framework tackles this! 📈🔍 #UltrasoundResearch #MICCAI2023
