craze

as it gradually becomes harder to avoid charged opinions online, interaction has increasingly become about quickly finding out which ideological starter deck your opponent has and then countering them with the newest logical trap card. we aren’t those starter decks, we’re just having our attention hacked. the algorithm isn’t evil. its just a mirror that’s becoming more polished. the only thing we have control of is our time, and ironically, we need to slow it down. eat whole foods. read whole books. watch whole movies. fight the pressure to min max every second in order to keep up, it’s merely an illusion of novelty keeping us glued to the screen and anxious 24/7. most of what you need to learn about how to be a good well-rounded human has already been written down in one of many classic novels, but that wouldn’t generate views so we are pushed to consume watered down, repackaged media. be good to the people you care about and never take the internet personally. stay safe out there.
