Happy Taco Tuesday, folks! 🌮 To you founders, 🧵 I came across a project on the TL, went through their profile, and noticed they were building something strong. But you know what many projects overlook? The visual aspect of their branding. Visuals play a huge role in how people perceive your project and can give you an edge over competitors. So, I went ahead and pitched my design services to this prediction market project, @TTTMarkets . We discussed the pricing and reached an agreement. But before proceeding, he asked me to create a design so he could see how it would turn out. He sent over the write-up and brand assets, and I got to work. After completing the design, we made a few adjustments, and he complimented me on the work. He then asked about my years of experience, and we had a brief discussion before he said he would speak with his team. He asked me to give him a couple of days. A few days later, I followed up, and he told me they had noticed their current design was clearer and cheaper. But here’s where things get interesting. The guy took my design, fed it into AI, and used it to rework the concept. Imagine putting your time, creativity, and effort into a project, only to have your work used this way without proceeding with the agreed deal. This is exactly why designers are becoming more cautious about doing unpaid sample work. @TTTMarkets , this isn’t cool. You can do better. I’m calling on you to take down the design that was delivered from your page Designers deserve respect for their time, creativity, and intellectual effort.
