Went to a Metric, Broken Social Scene, Stars concert tonight in Ottawa. I love BSS, but Kevin Drew had the crowd chanting "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me" and brother, you're playing in TD Place to a crowd of probably at least 30% public servants plus it's Ottawa. Dial it down a notch. Stars dude started their set by talking about his privilege being an artist and closing by telling everyone that Canada isn't just about what we have in the ground and oil and gas (sneering tone), but it's about our diversity and Indigenous people. Shades of Trudeau's resourcefulness not our resources. Thanks buddy. We don't talk about Trudeau anymore and the NDP isn't so hot these days. I am settling into my boomer "please for the love of god STFU and play the songs" phase like a rock star, as it were.
