Lots of people are using AI to do quick, easy things: sort email, book flights, write posts The smartest people are using it to do hard, slow things: build companies, find opportunities, solve problems If you could have the smartest person ever work for your company... would you hire them as the intern?

We’ve started making AI animation ads at Zagged. The feedback speaks for itself. These ads are ripping for clients spending >$200k/mo. If you run a brand and haven’t tested this format yet, let’s chat.

98% of US households aren't paying for AI yet More charts in State of Markets II: a16z.news/p/state-of-markets…
Introducing our State of Markets pt 2, along with a companion podcast where we unpack the data and discuss what comes next. Tech is the everything cycle. Supply: putting the buildout in context, just passed railroads as % of GDP. The wisdom of Elon is real: the factory (or the datacenter!) is the product. Demand: diffusion is so, so early. Median AI vendor spending in the top 1% of companies is 8x that of the top 10%. Only about 30% of S&P 500 companies report a quantified AI impact, which means there’s a substantial opportunity in connecting models to a company's data and workflows. Diffusion into companies is one of the main themes of the next 5 years. We’re entering the agent work period. Only a few million users today, but applicable to billions of internet users with massive surplus created. META/GOOG monetize US users at $200+ per year today. Agent opportunity is much higher. Mega-trends the next 5 years: Consumer agents, Robotics, Autonomy, AI x bio, Personal health, Diffusion into enterprise, New era of American Dynamism. Much more in our SoM report here - a16z.news/p/state-of-markets… @a16z @sarahdingwang @aleximm @santiago__rdz

About time Apple opened up iMessage to brands AI can finally handle conversations, and people would rather text than call or download another app Texting brands is about to be the norm
BREAKING: DoorDash unveiled a text-to-order AI agent that works inside iMessage, its answer to popular agentic tools like Instinct and Muse It is also opening a waitlist for its MCP for enterprise agents to do corporate ordering. DoorDash doesn’t have an official connector for Muse, but @andyfang told me that’s “TBD”. Doordash is talking with Meta and different AI players to meet users where they are, he said. A lot of people are going to get comfortable working with AI agents because they watched a coworker use one in Slack... Imagine someone in your team’s Slack channel asks an agent to pull last month’s ad results. It has access to the reporting data and comes back with the strongest performers. The media buyer looks at the list and says, “We ran a sale that week. Can you compare it with the other promo periods?” The agent reruns the comparison. The creative lead asks it to use that analysis in the next brief. With access to the team’s documents, it creates a draft and shares the link back in the thread. Then someone asks, “Can we turn this into a report we can use every week?” That work can continue with Slackforce Surfaces. Once it has access to the reporting data, it can build an interactive interface for the team. The media buyer asks for a way to flag promo dates so those weeks don’t get mixed into the regular results. Someone following along has now seen the team question the analysis, use it in a brief, and start building a Slackforce Surface around it. They can preview it at anytime in Slack and suggest adjustments. Ask Slackbot today.
