Asseb 🤔 📍📍📍The Truth !!!
In 1950, the United Nations wrote down something about Ethiopia that many people today want the world to forget.
On 2 December 1950, the UN General Assembly passed Resolution 390 A (V). In its preamble, the world body took into account Ethiopia's "legitimate need for adequate access to the sea."
Read that again. Not a wish. Not a threat. A legitimate need, recognised by the United Nations itself.
And it was not one voice. In 1949–50, while the UN debated Eritrea's future:
📍 Ethiopia argued, "in particular, its need for adequate access to the sea."
📍The Soviet Union proposed a trusteeship "with territorial concessions to Ethiopia to provide access to the Red Sea through the port of Assab."
📍The Italo-Eritrean Association proposed "free harbour zones at Massawa and Assab."
Different countries, different politics, one shared idea. Ethiopia should not be shut off from the sea.
76 years later, Ethiopia has more than 135 million people and no port of its own. The need the UN saw in 1950 did not disappear. It grew.
Ethiopians are not asking for anything new. We are asking the region to remember what the world already accepted, and to talk about it at the table, in peace.
A fair deal on the Red Sea is not a crime. The UN called it legitimate.

“Let us remember the martyrs.”
Within the canonical jurisdiction of our Diocese, namely, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church parishes throughout Southern and Western Africa, we have, in accordance with the decision of the Holy Synod, issued a pastoral message calling upon all churches to remember in prayer, following tomorrow’s Sunday Divine Liturgy, the more than 60 Christians who were killed because of their faith.
However, since the only power we have at our disposal is prayer and raising awareness of the situation, it is essential that we bring this ongoing process of genocide to the attention of the international community and mobilize people of conscience around the world to stand in solidarity with the victims.
May God bless us all.
Isaias to Putin: Africa is “𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲.” African governments are “𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱.” Russia should “𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱.”
That is not partnership.
That is colonial mindset still alive in Asmara 🤔
He will not hand power to Eritrea’s next generation.
He plans to hand influence to colonial masters instead.
Sovereignty for speeches.
Submission for Moscow.
Eritrea’s ruler fears his people more than he fears foreign control.
So he asks outsiders to “lead” Africa…
while Eritreans wait decades for a vote, a free press, and a successor who is not him.
Colonial submission is not strength.
It is fear with a flag.

Mr Okeil wrote “self-inflicted.” Let’s stick to what his own article admits and what it skips. 🤔
1) #GERD The 2015 Declaration of Principles (Principle V) asks the three countries to agree filling and operation rules “in parallel with construction.” It does not give #Egypt a veto. Ethiopia built and filled under that agreement. Unilateral obstruction of talks is not the same as unilateral construction.
2) Sea access: He says Egypt, #Eritrea , Sudan and Somalia “do not object to commercial access.” Good. Ethiopia is not asking to annex a coastline. We ask negotiated sea access — a fair deal on the Red Sea, port and naval base agreed at a table, with the host’s consent. That is UNCLOS Article 125 for landlocked states. Sovereignty of coastal states stays intact. Refusal to sit is the problem.
3) #Somalia He admits Hassan Sheikh said commercial access to Somali ports was acceptable if agreed with Somalia. That is dialogue. Ethiopia’s position is the same: consent of the host, not force.
4) Neighbours Eritrea quit IGAD in Dec 2025 and now calls the AU “meaningless” while sharing a stage with its chair in Moscow. Egypt ships arms and troops far from its shore, then lectures Ethiopia on “non-coastal” presence. Sudan’s war has many hands including reported Eritrean intervention. Blaming only Addis does not make Asmara or Cairo innocent.
5) Pretoria and internal affairs Ethiopia’s domestic file is #Ethiopia’s to fix. Foreign writers do not get to turn every Ethiopian debate into a license for neighbours to intervene.

🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷 WAKE UP, #ERITREA! 🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷
3️⃣5️⃣ YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE.
3️⃣5️⃣ YEARS UNDER☝️ PRESIDENT.
3️⃣5️⃣ YEARS OF SUFFERING FOR TOO MANY FAMILIES. 🥀🥀🥀🥀
HOW MUCH LONGER❓❓❓💔
AFTER 3️⃣5️⃣YEARS, WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF #ERITREA 🇪🇷 AND THEIR FUTURE? 💔
After listening to President Isaias Afwerki’s recent interview about sovereignty, territorial integrity and international politics, I felt I needed to share a few thoughts.
As an Ethiopian, I often think about the Eritrean people, especially the ordinary families, mothers, fathers and children who simply want to live a peaceful, decent life. ❤️
I respect Eritrea’s independence and sovereignty. But I keep asking myself: what does protecting a country really mean if so many of its people are still struggling?
Let’s look at the facts. 👇
🗳️ 👎 NO NATIONAL ELECTIONS since Eritrea gained independence in 1993.
📰 👎 NO INDEPENDENT PRESS. Independent domestic media have been banned since 2001.
🔒 👎 POLITICAL PRISONERS AND DISAPPEARANCES. Some families have spent more than two decades without knowing what happened to their loved ones. Imagine being a mother and not knowing whether your child is alive. 💔
🪖 👎 INDEFINITE NATIONAL SERVICE. Instead of the legally prescribed 18 months, some Eritreans serve for years or even decades. What happens to their education, careers and dreams❓
💧 👎 WATER ACCESS. According to UNICEF, only 52% of the population uses at least basic drinking water services. Think about the families who still struggle to access something as essential as water.
💡 👎 ELECTRICITY. World Bank data show that only 55.3% of Eritreans had access to electricity in 2024. Nearly 45% were still without it.
📱 👎 INTERNET AND TECHNOLOGY. DataReportal estimates that around 80% of the population was not using the Internet at the end of 2025. In today’s digital world, access to information, education and technology matters more than ever.
🧳 👎 REFUGEES AND SEPARATED FAMILIES. Human Rights Watch reported over 660,000 Eritreans in exile as of late 2024. So many families separated, so many young people searching for safety and opportunities elsewhere.
💔 😭AND LAMPEDUSA OCTOBER 3, 2013. 368 lives were lost in that heartbreaking shipwreck, many of them Eritreans.
I live in 🇮🇹 Italy, and this tragedy is something I cannot forget. Those were not just numbers. They were human beings, with families, hopes and dreams. 🕯️
And after all these years, my questions remain:
❓ What kind of future are Eritrean children growing up to expect?
❓ How many more years should families wait for greater freedom and opportunities?
❓ What does national sovereignty mean without dignity and basic rights for the people?
❓ What will the next generation inherit?
President Isaias has been in power since 1993. No leader will remain forever, but the consequences of today’s decisions can affect generations.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers. I’m simply looking at these realities as a human being, and they genuinely make me sad.
And with tensions between Ethiopia and Eritrea, one thing worries me deeply: another war would bring even more suffering to families on both sides. 🙈
Ordinary Ethiopians and Eritreans deserve to raise their children in peace, with education, jobs, healthcare, freedom and hope.
I want to see both peoples living with dignity, without fear and without another generation losing its future to conflict.
A country’s strength is not measured only by its borders or political speeches. It is also measured by the lives and opportunities of its people.
This is not hatred towards Eritrea. Far from it. It is concern for the human beings behind the headlines.
🇪🇷❤️🇪🇹 May the next generation inherit peace, dignity and opportunity not another war.‼️‼️‼️🕊️

Sisi gave the Horn three rules in the #Kremlin today. Ethiopia agrees with all three, and #Ethiopia will defend them for itself too.
1. No threats against any country's sovereignty, and no interference in its internal affairs.
Agreed. Then a coastal state's right to sign a port or base agreement with its neighbour is part of that sovereignty. And a country that is not in the Horn, building a bloc with Asmara and Mogadishu, as Egypt did at the Asmara summit in October 2024, is exactly the outside interference he describes.
2. No military presence of non-littoral states on the Red Sea coast.
Ethiopia is not a threat to the Red Sea. It is a victim of being locked away from it. Ethiopia had a coastline and its own navy, using Assab and Massawa, until Eritrea became independent in 1993. That right did not disappear. Ethiopia is not asking to invade anyone. It is asking for a port and a naval base, agreed at a table with a willing coastal partner. That is negotiated sea access, not militarization.
A nation of more than 135 million people cannot be locked away from the sea forever. Ethiopia's access to the sea will come back, through agreement, and it will come back ‼️
3. Rivers must be "a bridge for cooperation, not a source of tension."
Then Egypt must stop treating the Nile as its own gift. More than 85% of the Nile's water comes from the Ethiopian highlands. #Ethiopia was not a party to the 1959 agreement between Egypt and Sudan. There will be no imposed agreement on the Abay.‼️
Ethiopia will build dams on its own river, in cooperation, not by permission. The #GERD makes electricity for Ethiopia and the region. It has not cut the river. Egypt itself signed the 2015 Declaration of Principles: equitable and reasonable use, and no significant harm.
Ethiopia's position is clear and will not change:
✅ The GERD is Ethiopian, and it stays on.
✅ There will be no imposed agreement on the Abay.
✅ Ethiopia's sea access and its navy are its right, and they will return through negotiation.
✅ Talks, yes. Dictation, no.
Fewer speeches about Ethiopia. More talks with Ethiopia.

🎇 MY FACEBOOK VIDEO HIT OVER
1️⃣ .🅾️🅾️🅾️,🅾️🅾️🅾️ / milion views today! 💪🤩🔥🔥🔥
Thanks to technology and social media, I can share my thoughts and videos in different languages, including Arabic, about Ethiopia, our neighboring countries and why I believe diplomacy and cooperation are better than war. ✨
👇Look, the world is talking about Ethiopia! My amazing FB followers keep sending me news from around the world, including Egypt and other Arab countries. Some even write to me, “Inshallah, 🙏 good things for Ethiopia!”
📺 Let me show you what Arabic media are saying about Ethiopia’s Su-35 fighter jets, 😅😆😆😆….Red Sea access and Assab Port!
On X, I often see discussions dominated by ethnic divisions Amhara, Tigray, Oromo, Gurage, Kembata and others. Sometimes I feel that messages about our shared future get lost in these debates.
But I’m happy to see people from different countries and backgrounds engaging respectfully with my videos on other platforms. 🔝
We all know Ethiopia faces serious challenges, and there is still so much work to be done. But I stand with PM Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s vision and dreams for Ethiopia’s future development, prosperity and peaceful, negotiated access to the sea.
My message is simple: Diplomacy, not war. Cooperation, not confrontation. Unity, not ethnic division. 🕊️
Every Ethiopian can contribute in their own way. I’m doing my small part by sharing information, encouraging dialogue and making Ethiopia’s voice heard beyond our borders.
This is my contribution, and I’m proud of it! 💪 ….Not everything needs to be shared everywhere. I prefer to keep contributing in my own way. 🤷♀️😅
And yes, I stand with PM Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s vision for Ethiopia’s future, especially his call to resolve the question of sea access peacefully, through dialogue and diplomacy. That’s the message I wanted to share in my video. 🕊️
Different platforms, different audiences same love for Ethiopia 😍
