BREAKING: Pete Hegseth PUNISHES the poor sailor who jumped off a US Navy ship -- AND his family -- in a heartless show of cruelty and spite! Nicholas McKelvey was just 19 years old when he reached the end of his rope aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. He had spent 255 grueling days at sea, working 12-hour shifts in punishing heat, often without enough food, while his wife struggled to raise their children back home. He had missed the birth of his baby daughter. His mother-in-law was in treatment for cancer. And when he sought help for his deteriorating mental health, he says the Navy directed him to a chaplain instead of a mental health professional. Then, one August morning, McKelvey ran across the flight deck and plunged 67 feet into the Arabian Sea. A helicopter crew rescued him. But instead of treating his desperate act as a mental health emergency, the Navy accused him of FAKING his crisis to escape deployment. And on Thursday, the Navy moved to discharge him under conditions that will cost him his G.I. Bill education benefits โ€“ the very benefits he and his wife had been counting on to build a better life for their children. โ€œThey'd rather blame the victim,โ€ his wife, Samantha Larry, told The NYT. McKelvey and Larry have been together since middle school. They became parents as teenagers, dropped out of high school and married last year. He joined the Navy in 2024 in hopes of giving his family some sort of stable future. What he found instead was life aboard an aircraft carrier whose deployment stretched to a near-record 322 days as the war with Iran dragged on. Food supplies dwindled. Contact with home became difficult. McKelvey told his wife he wasn't sure he could finish the deployment. โ€œI didn't want to be there anymore,โ€ he told the Times. โ€œIf I was going to die because of it, then that's just how it is.โ€ McKelvey was not alone in his existential angst. According to the Navy's own report to Congress, there were EIGHT suicide attempts among sailors in the Lincoln strike group during the deployment. The Navy maintains that McKelvey deliberately jumped overboard to get out of his duties. Its records note that he wore a flotation vest and jumped when the sea was relatively calm. But one officer acknowledged in a report that the deployment had been so difficult it was โ€œunsurprising that we might have a jumper.โ€ Now McKelvey and his wife are preparing to return to Florida with their 3-year-old son and 8-month-old daughter. They're staying with relatives and in temporary rental housing while they figure out how to support their family. โ€œWe're going to have to pull out student loans,โ€ Larry said. โ€œIt is essentially setting us up for just putting us in debt.โ€ The Navy kept these sailors at sea for nearly 11 months, sent them into a war zone, worked them through punishing conditions and watched their mental health deteriorate. Eight suicide attempts in a single strike group should have set off every alarm in the Pentagon. Even if every day of that deployment was militarily necessary, the sacrifices these sailors made deserve recognition, compassion and care. Instead, when one 19-year-old father finally broke, the Navy accused him of faking it and took away the college benefits he had earned his family's hopes on. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth loves to preach his โ€œwarrior ethos,โ€ but what kind of warrior culture treats a sailor's psychological collapse as a disciplinary problem rather than a human emergency? McKelvey gave the Navy everything he had until he had nothing left to give. Now the institution he served is sending him home to his wife and two small children with fewer opportunities than he had when he enlisted. If this is how America repays the sacrifices of its young service members, the Pentagon has a great deal more to worry about than its recruiting numbers.

In June 1945, in Okinawa, a 22-year-old teacher named Keiko Mori was ordered to tell her 30 students to commit suicide with hand grenades rather than surrender. She refused. And she told her students, "Live. No matter what they say, you must live." While Japanese soldiersโ€”who imposed death in the name of honorโ€”searched for them, she kept her students hidden in a cave for 12 days. Even when their food ran out, she sang songs and taught them arithmetic using stones. When the American soldiers finally discovered the cave, she came out first, holding a white shirt aloft to shield her students. The American soldiers were about to shoot her, but seeing the children behind her, they lowered their weapons. And they shared chocolate with the children. After the war, some Japanese people branded her a "traitor to the nation," but her 30 students survived. In 1975, a small statue was erected in her honor in Okinawa. The statue, which depicts a teacher holding a white shirt, bears these words: "She taught us the bravest lesson of all: to 'live.'" Despite being ordered to accept death, this young teacher chose to fight to protect the lives of 30 children.

๐Ÿšจ A white cop tased a Black Army veteran 7 times while he was coming out of a seizure on his own front lawn and EMS was treating him. "HE JUST HAD A SEIZURE, BRO, BACK THE F*** UP OFF HIM!" Chattahoochee, FL Dwight Jackson was putting up Halloween decorations when he had a seizure and collapsed. His brother called 911. EMS was treating him when the officer showed up, shoved everyone aside and jumped on top of him. On camera, the officer claims Jackson was "actively grabbing my throat." His brother screams over and over that Jackson just had a seizure. Then the officer turns to EMS and says, "Help us restrain him." Jackson says it was "more terrifying than being in the war." The officer has been fired. Jackson was never booked into jail. He says they sat him in the back of a patrol car, then let him go. Should this officer be charged with a crime, or is firing him enough?

One day after a Russian drone killed 14 people waiting for a train in Dnipro, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov landed in Atlanta for the G20 meeting hosted by Marco Rubio. Several European diplomats objected to being photographed alongside Lavrov and threatened to walk out, forcing the U.S. to scrap the traditional group photo. Absolutely disgusting
