I don’t know who needs to hear this, but there’s a lot going on and you’ve got a lot on your plate. It’s okay to take it easy and prioritize rest and time with family. You can hustle once you’re feeling up for it again.
Nothing like sending out a big newsletter announcement to then realize that your dns is messed up and most of it went to spam. Yay!
Fixed now, but should we resend, knowing some would get it again? Just exclude the ones we know opened the original?
Kelsey and I are on the latest episode of @IndieRails podcast, if that's your thing.

Really bummed right now.
Just had our first churn. It was inevitable. And it wasn’t even our fault. They just weren’t selling and making enough to justify even our lowest paid tier.
Still feel like we failed them.
Welp. Just hit a major milestone this morning. Not bad for ~4 months. Probably hitting $300k by EOD and $400k by EOM.
Just had a call with an existing customer of @eventuallytckts. They discovered us from "chat" (ChatGPT).
A testament to us nitching down and solving a very specific problem for a previously neglected group.
"We're in the service industry. The fact that they had good customer service is what made me feel like they would be good stewards of the platform for my event."
I love our @eventuallytckts customers.
And big thanks to @pascallaliberte for conducting the interview.
I can not tell you how many times I've typed the word "remediated" (or a similar variation) this past week. Too many.
I can not express how weird a day I had.
- Both kids were home from care, yet...
- I merged 15 PRs (1 big project + a ton of smaller bugs) that had settled overnight.
- I figured out why we couldn't find our dryer vent.
- Our second of 3 stories ceiling started raining inside.
September was probably the hardest month I've ever had, both personally and professionally.
It's also been hands down my favorite.
I'm exhausted. My house is falling apart. The entire industry is in upheaval.
But we are building something special. And having a blast.
This just got way way worse. We got our air ducts cleaned. Supposed to get dryer ducts cleaned too but to our surprise, we are the only ones in our building (6 units) that doesn’t appear to have a dryer exhaust vent?
Oh and the newly discovered water leak by the furnace.
Rolled out a big revamp of our widget builder earlier today. Included "global styles", so you can keep your brand consistent without copying custom styles to each new widget.
Not something customers asked for, but came from us regularly using the product and getting annoyed.
My wife and I have gotten in a habit of saying "why did we start this company? why right now?" about 5 times a day to each other.
Just goes to show... you don't choose your company. Your company chooses you.
I’m trying really hard to stay focused on the biggest needle mover for @eventuallytckts. Wanted it done on Friday.
But both kids got sick. Which means, I’m now getting sick. Plus we had two large clients launch (1k+ tickets each).
This weekend was supposed to be restorative.
Our dryer died last week. No heat, so clothes never dry.
I REALLY wanted to fix it myself. In theory, it was a $20 part. But I'm now $250+ in.
I've also cleaned out a TON of lint but still haven't even gotten to the 30+ feet of vent that needs cleaning.
Time to call someone.
Taking @VicVijayakumar’s advice and now searching replacements. I tried. Cutting my losses and just getting a new stacked unit.
We have a slack channel that alerts us to any errors we notice on the site. Including bounces from @postmarkapp.
I am saddened by how often people typo their own email address.
Had big plans for my day with client work and finishing up new @eventuallytckts features.
Then the baby woke up with a fever and couldn't go to nanny-share. Luckily, he went down super easy for his first nap but now I've got (maybe) a 2 hour window.
Wish me luck.
My wife and I just did an interview earlier today for @eventuallytckts. It was for a podcast I regularly listen to. First time I've ever been interviewed on a podcast.
I think we did okay!? It was super fun. Excited to share it when it's out in a couple of weeks.
