I had this conversation with non-VTuber/CC friends who know about Kromatika and asked why I dedicate so much time and money to VTubing, especially Chromatic Live—a concert where I pay staff to assist with mixes, artwork, guides and so forth. And my only answer was because I love it. And I just wanna talk about it a little. For full transparency, for Chromatic Live, a concert that won’t premiere until March 2027—I spent well over $3.5K USD so far. Everything completely out of my pocket for my staff, my artists, plus other funds for additional art for my special stage singers as a gift, actual concert assets and other things I had to outsource, and so forth. (Also all of these payments are at THEIR rates, I did not lowball and I do NOT accept help for free. I also made it known that my singers and guests are NOT to feel obliged to contribute financially. I do this because I appreciate them and want them to focus on singing.) This is on top of paying for brand new assets + model for a new outfit and design for 2027 where the redebut costs are well over $3000 too. As well as other solo projects like my monthly covers, paying my editor, and my appearances and performances in other concerts and such as well. I’m not wealthy, I just work a decent 8-5 and I’m just decent at budgeting and prioritizing what is more important to me. For a small guy who barely pushes 20+ CCV, you wonder why I do it? Someone who is at a consistent net loss. Why do all of this when it keeps you busy and risk burning out? Because I can and because it makes ME happy. Because I love singing and streaming and sharing my day with people while I play games or whatever on stream. When I remember what I’m doing this for, I feel all my worries go away. Because I was never in this for fame or money, and despite how small I am and my community is, the fact that they still stick with me, I want to give back everything to them—they deserve to experience this kind of things too. Time is fleeting. Life is short. Making it to tomorrow isn’t a guarantee, but I’m grateful to still be here. And I will make the most of it while I can. I want to make people’s time with me worthwhile while I still have time with them. I love my Kromanauts and the Color Space so much. No amount of money is worth the appreciation and love they give me, so I can only give them my best.
