I’m writing a book. It’s called Goonworld. It’s not about gooning. Or it is, metaphorically. But mostly it’s about post-COVID culture writ large—the range of, let’s say, unusual online forms/tendencies that have emerged this decade and that have in various ways altered the texture of contemporary reality. Sort of a travelogue. A journey to the heart of slop etc. Out via FSG eventually!

While Biden and his staffers are desperate to spin it as a series of unfortunate events they were helpless to correct, Akbar Shahid Ahmed’s new book leaves no doubt that top US officials repeatedly made the choice to aid and abet Netanyahu

The past few years have seen a spate of novels, films, and plays featuring content moderators, @loracorkelley writes in a new Issue Eighteen preview. But many of these works give a misleading impression of how the tech industry actually functions.

Great. So let’s see you compel Israel to dismantle the outpost in Turmus’ayya’s olive fields. Easy peasy.
