Very happy to share the first article from my postdoc work in the Tomancak lab! biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…. We studied the self-organization of actin in aggregates made from Hydra cells. Thread below (1/9)
Tommaso's paper on approximating moments of stochastic multiscale models is now out in Math Biosci! Fantastic job by @churli ! @csbdresden @mpicbg

The new method is integrated into our symbolic moment generator Compartor, which is available on GitHub:

Code for the numerical examples shown in the paper is also available:

This is now up @BiophysJ! Getting lipid signaling kinetic parameters from single-cell data with @MLennartz1 @PavelBarahtjan @looneycoons11 @JManuel9112 @zechnerlab @nadlerlab @MMSchuhmacher 😀😊 Read here! doi.org/10.1016/j.bpj.2023.1…
Together with the @zechnerlab we have pushed live-cell quantitative lipid biochemistry to the single cell level. It works - but some lipids are weird. 🤓
Great effort by shared 1st authors @davidtgonzales1 and @MMSchuhmacher. Let us know what you think! biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

How do distant DNA loci come into contact to activate genes?
Our paper combining live imaging 🔬& polymer physics 🧬 to answer this is out in @ScienceMagazine!
We show how chromosome packing & diffusion determine pairwise dynamics & transcription

Very proud to share that former group member @LorenzoDuso was awarded the Otto-Hahn Medal for his outstanding PhD thesis @csbdresden @mpicbg Many congratulations for this exceptional achievement! Image: © David Ausserhofer / Max-Planck-Gesellschaft
Congrats David!!
Our preprint on building a bottom-up synthetic multicellular community is up! 😄 biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… See how we use cell-free expression of quorum sensing gene circuits in DIBs to make synthetic cells that communicate and have feedback loops! @DoraTang5 @zechnerlab @mpicbg

Excited to share Anne's new paper in Phys Rev Res, presenting a method to quantify information transmission (-rates) in biochemical networks. Congrats!! @csbdresden @mpicbg journals.aps.org/prresearch/…

Thanks @Dmichiel1 @wendy_bickmore for highlighting in @MolecularCell cell.com/molecular-cell/full… our recent work science.org/doi/full/10.1126… visualizing a TAD-forming CTCF/cohesin loop in live cells and showing these structures to be dynamic, rare, and largely partially extruded.
Next up @davidtgonzales1!! Wonderful example of a multidisciplinary PhD project, combining both experiment and theory. Many congratulations to your graduation David!! @tanglab @mpicbg @csbdresden @imprs_mpicbg
Huge congratulations to @FOltsch for his outstanding PhD defense last week! Many thanks for all the great work & fun and best of luck for your future adventures! @imprs_mpicbg @csbdresden @mpicbg
