Sometimes all you need to make things ok is a little sprinkle of potatoes

the next question is not only "what can I build now?" it is "what do I care enough about to understand, shape, and keep making better?" this part doesn't change

Something I've noticed: a lot of folks automatically reject a message if they think AI wrote it. You don't need to trust the source of a message for it to contain useful knowledge. Build your discernment now - it will only become more vital, not less.

If you define yourself mostly in comparison to others you tend to only feel good by looking down. Your life constricts to those few inches others are "lower" than you. Life becomes so much sweeter when you instead learn to look up and see the beauty in the wide, open sky above.

The local game art studio is growing. What started as a bun cli has grown a UI (although it is still api-first). This is such a joy to use. Generated atlas goes straight into the bevy game engine. Next up: vfx, and game tiles. Some quick shares from before bed last night:

I’ve built a game asset generation pipeline on top of a model that allows full free commercial use. This is all running locally, on my computer at home, with the only input cost being electricity.

This can produce character atlases - an image + coordinate manifest. The atlas is one image that’s loaded in, then different portions of it are shown depending on character state (idle, walking, attack, dead, etc).

I had no idea how much 'token anxiety' I was feeling. Didn't expect to feel this level of excitement upon getting it all wired up!!

When naming things, don't think about what to call them. Think about what you'd call the opposite, then the opposite of that. I don't know why this works, but it does.

Have you ever pair programmed with a plant? It's nice because they start with root access

What is a good response to this situation if you are the artist?
Listen to this AI generated song featuring Drake & The Weeknd. It goes so damn hard. It's by "Ghostwriter977" on TikTok and it's blowing up on socials + streaming platforms. UMG, which controls around 1/3 of the global music market, has already asked streaming platforms to ban AI. A modern Napster moment. Will be fascinating to watch this all unfold in real-time.

I’ve often wondered if the problems of our age are emergent, directed, or a mixture of both. This is +1 for emergent
Great Awokening is a global phenomenon. No evidence it started in US media. Analysis of 98 million news articles across 36 countries quantifies. Exception: state-controlled media from China/Russia/Iran using wokeness terminology to criticize/mock the West davidrozado.substack.com/p/g…

"Simply write laws with exploitable logic in them. Slap ethically-pleasant-sounding names on bills to fool the masses with morally camouflaged sleights-of-hand. These strategies work because they're subversive and passive aggressive." @JasonPLowery Softwar.

Huge safari release. Why? Apple argued if developers don't like its offer to take 30% of their revenue, there's always the "highly capable" safari ios to fall back on. Of course, then people started asking, "is it capable?" The answer? absolutely not infrequently.org/2023/02/saf…

These sound really useful. Interesting thread!
Have you ever heard of `morphdom` and can't quite imagine why and how it might be useful in your server-rendered web-applications? Here are some use-cases where you would want to use the new `morph` action 🧵
