Microsoft is making a Windows 11 security feature more widely available, but could hurt gaming performance on some PCs around 5-10% Starting in October 2026, Microsoft will begin enabling Memory Integrity (HVCI) on more compatible Windows 11 systems. The feature is designed to make Windows more secure by protecting the system from malicious or vulnerable drivers but memory Integrity and VBS can use additional system resources and reduce gaming performance. Previous testing has found an average gaming performance loss of around 5%, Some older CPUs losses of 10% or more in some tests.
