A Google bug caused multiple pages to be deindexed. Google chooses canonicals… randomly on some websites. Sounds similar to a famous bug from 2020.

We focused on eCommerce in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
144 eCommerce domains and 2.5 million URLs were analyzed using @ziptiedev.

An interesting case when poor JavaScript code can negatively affect SEO...
For one of our client websites, when an API request failed, a "noindex" tag was injected into the page.
As a result, tons of pages got deindexed.

.@tadejow, our Data Scientist, found a strong correlation between indexing and covering multiple topics on a website. The *initial results* show that websites with diverse content tend to have issues with indexing. It seems to me topical authority is extremely important.
