We keep getting questions about our methodology and how we assess the risk of vaults.
For this reason, we published a new research article out: How Philidor Scores a Vault.
A plain-language guide to our 0–10 scoring framework: the four inputs, rules that cap a score, and how we handle missing evidence.

We first flag on @philidorlabs risk engine July 30 the msUSD depeg affecting the @gauntlet_xyz Metronome msUSD Vault
Since this day, we flagged 53 critical events, composition is still today made of 62% of it
Liquidity is still available, no utilization or APY, what's going on?

DeFi didn’t grind higher this week.
It jumped.
Philidor coverage went from $45.5B to $50.1B in 7 days.
That’s +$4.6B.
Almost +10%.
this is why we focus on risk: the market is demanding it.
One thing I keep noticing in conversations with fintechs: they care a lot less about an extra 50 bps of yield than crypto Twitter thinks they do.
The real question is usually some version of: if we put a large amount of money into this and need it back tomorrow, who do we call?
That is where a lot of onchain yield gets awkward. The protocol points to the curator, the curator points to the oracle, and eventually everyone has a technically correct explanation for why it was not their fault. The fintech still owes its customers money.
Regulated products are not risk-free either. The difference is that a fintech can understand who issued the product, what sits underneath it and how getting its money back is supposed to work.
There probably will not be one issuer that works for everyone. Geography, liquidity and compliance requirements all change.
The fairly boring problem we are working on at Blend is giving fintechs one connection into that market, so they can add or change providers without starting the integration and compliance work from scratch every time.

interesting that private credit is leading the majority of RWA deposits on Morpho (sitting now at almost $1.5B) and the market share is increasing rapidly compared to the rest.
my guess is that only high yielding collaterals make borrow profitable while keeping lending rate > sofr

defi tranches: a historical rekt analysis.
when evaluating a senior tranche, ask:
(1) how large is the locked junior buffer?
(2) which losses does senior priority actually apply to?

Morpho Midnight is what institutional onchain credit should look like: fixed-rate, tradable before maturity, and actually usable by institutions.
The key is that compliance is built into the market: KYC, whitelists and approved liquidators without turning the product into a custodial black box.
the biggest deFi hacks and what allocators can learn from them.
I’m well covered here @Zdeadex
