I attended a Leadership Summit at LUMS where stakeholders from the finance & digital assets market presented their stance on Pakistan. What stood out to me is that while previously, we’d always draw comparisons with our neighbour, India, this time around, its name was not mentioned, even once. This made me realise that finally & most deservingly, Pakistan has its own seat at the table.

The Iranians and Americans are really making PM Shehbaz Sharif & FM Asim Munir work hard for that Nobel Peace Prize….

Pakistan has a big responsibility on its shoulders & time is of the essence. As deadline for ceasefire to lapse soon approaches, being the one neutral & trusted party, it’s on us to make all efforts to ensure the situation does not go south. It’s not just only about hosting Islamabad Talks, it’s about assuring peace is preserved in the world.

Pakistan Zindabad 🇵🇰

It is unlikely that Donald Trump will let JD Vance take the credit for closing a deal with Iran. For this reason there is a high probability that he will be visiting Pakistan for the final stage of negotiations. Afterall, if it’s not in the name of world peace, it’s for the sake of political gain!

It is not the first time we are witnessing the collapse of a political party following the arrest of its leader. After forced exile of Sharif family in 1999, PMLN stood fractured, with many members breaking away to form PML-Q. In 2018, when Nawaz Sharif was arrested, Shehbaz Sharif took the reins only for PMLN to lose in the general elections to PTI. Now with Imran Khan behind bars, his team is running around like headless chicken. Question is if PTI is, to one day, rise from the ashes.

Speaker Ghalibaf confirms: there is a serious trust deficit when it comes to USA. Let’s not forget history & that it was America which reneged from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018 despite Iran living up to its part of the deal. This was under Trump’s first regime when he referred to it as a nuclear holocaust in the making with Israel & even Saudi in support of such withdrawal. USA later imposed harsh economic sanctions on Iran who consequently, with no deal in field, went on to enrich its nuclear program. Now, in Islamabad Talks, it is evident that the pursuit to restrict Iran further remains in play & so, we understand why Iran will not be willing to agree, in full, to such a proposal.

Hugely disappointed that Islamabad Talks did not reach a positive end, but likely, an agreement in 21 hours would have been an overoptimistic conclusion, given Trump was ready to wipe out all of Iran less than a week ago. However, Islamabad can now effectively be termed as the new Peace Capital of the World, and for that, I congratulate all citizens of Pakistan.

If Islamabad Talks go as planned, Vice President JD Vance would be the first and senior most American leader to meet an Iranian official since the 1979 Iranian Revolution. History in the making indeed, with all eyes on Pakistan.

How far we have come as a nation, previously misunderstood and judged, cornered into holding talks with the banned terrorist organization TTP to today, hosting high level talks between two world leaders America and Iran. Only onwards and upwards hereon. Pakistan Zindabad.

In 1979 amidst serious unrest, late Shah of Iran fled to Egypt, never to return again. To the contrary, Khamenei did not bow, he bravely embraced martyrdom in its truest sense, as Muslims believe death is not the end, but an arrival. Let his life & his death be a lesson in Islam.

2025 in a nutshell: Pakistan Zindabad!

This Eid I pray for 7 year old Irtaza Abbas Turi who was martyred in Indian airstrikes only a month ago. I pray for his parents & brother whose family will forever remain incomplete. While you celebrate Eid with your loved ones, remember those who have lost. Be grateful to Allah.

Pakistan sends high level delegation of ex foreign ministers, senators, ministers to present our clear & consistent stance before top UN & OIC reps while the self proclaimed hegemonic India sends a team led by author Shashi Tharoor because it only has fiction & no facts to tell.
