@4corners exposed the harm that flows from neoliberalism in this case the outsourcing of childcare to the private sector. Same in aged care, NDIS and Mental Health. #jointhedots

Borussia Dortmund fans called for a women's team in a move that kicked off plans to start one. Now, it's one of the most well-supported in Germany, able to attract a huge star in Alex Popp, and only two promotions away from the top. goal.com/en-gb/originals/ins…

Your country might be great but does it follow Australia’s lead by colour-coordinating its currency with the nation’s favourite snack foods?

In case anyone is still in doubt, one thing that is definitively debunked by the @nazadocumentary is that the "collatoral damage" argument of Israeli apologists is total bullshit. All interviewees agreed that Palestinian civilians in Gaza were deliberately targeted by them, using AI and surveillance technologies. No ifs, no buts. It was, and remains, an intentional mass slaughter of innocent civilians: war crimes and crimes against humanity described by those who carried them out. Even the perpetrators in the film called what they did "a genocide".

Justified to shoot into a car for supposed shoplifting ??? Potentially killing people over $20 or something??? And the shoplifting never happened- minor detail!!!
The cop who shot and killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley at a Walmart in Mississippi has resigned. State prosecturors declined to press charges against Hunter Foster and said the shooting was justified. Kohen Wiley's family is calling for a federal investigation. Despite resigning from the Senatobia Police Department, Foster is still certified as a law enforcement officer in the state. A cop who's responsible for the death of a child can just legally walk away and be hired by another department like nothing ever happened.

We’re teenage girls fighting to ban the use of school uniform in porn. Why have you left it up to us? No one should have to feel nervous about walking to school in clothes designed for children. It’s time for law to end the sexualisation of minors theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Power, authority & public trust are exploited by politicians and priests to meet perverse sexual interests. A first response to calls for accountability of churches & government is to deny sexual abuse & delay investigation. Meanwhile, the abusers thrive. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…

Very confronting. This is happening & has happened in so many places. The main difference at the moment is that mainstream media & major western leaders (other than the ICC and a small number of western nations) have excused or colluded with this particular example in Palestine
There was a deeper reason why the film NAZA left the entire audience speechless. This film isn’t about the tangible, visible horror of Gaza. It was about something more hidden, something far closer to home. This was about the horror lurking within each of us. What the German-Jewish philosopher Hannah Arendt called “the banality of evil”. We were stunned, I think, by the realisation that the 24 Israelis up on the screen – each of whom admitted, often dispassionately, sometimes a little proudly, carrying out the most monstrous of crimes – could have been our son or daughter, our brother or sister. The only reason to applaud, as happened at the Venice Film Festival, it seemed to me, was to drown out the still, small voice of one’s conscience asking, “Might I have done as they did? Might my children?” NAZA is a gut punch not because it tells us anything we did not already know or suspect about Israel and Gaza. The enclave’s Palestinian journalists showed us daily the evidence of the genocide, before each was picked off by Israel’s AI machinery – in the largest slaughter of media personnel ever recorded. No, the film tells us something far more shaming. It tells us who we are. It tells us exactly what the pillars of our western “civilisation” stand on. Today’s western privileges were built on a long history of naked, racist colonialism – of greed, of pillage, of slavery, of genocide – that we have never truly renounced or forsaken. Israel continues that tradition for us, both in sharpening colonialism’s technical efficiency with endless, murderous experimentation on a captive Palestinian population and in obscuring our own complicity in this barbarity. That is the reason why it was so effortless for our leaders to collude in Israel’s genocide: to supply the bombs, to pass on the intelligence, to provide the diplomatic cover, to excuse the “excesses”, to crush the protests. NAZA silences us not because of the monstrosity of what Israel did but because it serves as irrefutable proof of our own monstrosity. Our societies watched it all and did nothing. We are all guilty. This is an extract from my latest article NAZA is not just about Israel and Gaza. It’s about the evil lurking in us all. Find a link to the rest in the reply post below ⬇️

A Canadian judge authorized a $600 million class action lawsuit against P*rnhub, its parent company, AND ITS FORMER OWNERS Feras Antoon and David Tassillo for knowingly distributing and profiting from child abuse, rape, sex trafficking and nonconsensual content. This is very significant progress in the fight to hold P*rnhub and its owners accountable. Shut. It. Down.
