Huge problems coming this week re: housing for asylum seekers in Glasgow - and with no warning for support services to prepare. Below a thread with links to orgs that will be picking up the pieces if you're able to offer practical or financial support. The need will be urgent.
“A private firm housing thousands of refugees in Glasgow says it will start evicting up to 300 people who have been told they cannot stay in Britain.” In Scotland policy for asylum seekers is “Integration from day 1.” This cuts right across it. Horrendous heraldscotland.com/news/1638…

I have to admire your brass neck, chaps. Since 2010:
1. You’ve culled 15k hospital beds
2. You’ve created worst 4 hour A&E waits since records began
3. You axed the nursing bursary
4. You “went nuclear” with junior drs
5. You mean we’re 40k nurses short
6. And 10k doctors
#NHS teapawt.org/conservatives/status/9…
Since 2010 we've invested in our NHS meaning there are:
👩⚕️ 14,900 more doctors.
🏥 13,200 more nurses on our wards.
🔬 5,000 extra nurse training places available from September 2018.
🎓 A record number of undergraduates beginning medical training by 2020.

When a cabinet minister “forgets”
his purchase of 7 luxury flats, he receives not even a rap on the knuckles.
When a cancer drug specialist makes a tax return error, it’s used - gratuitously - to try & deport her.
What are you playing at, @ukhomeoffice?

Wrote a short autobiographical ramble for Radio 3 earlier this month. It goes out on Monday evening and may not be quite what you're expecting. I haven't heard the edit but it might include a sumptuous guitar setting of O Come Emanuel...... bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b0x18…
