Deeply misleading post: of the R1.3 billion, only R10.6 million was spent on refugees and asylum seekers.
And the total of R1.3bn (almost all of which was spent on permanent residents), should be understood in the context of a budget for social assistance of just under R300bn.
The amount spent on permanent residents is less than 0.4% of the social assistance budget. The amount spent on refugees and asylum seekers is less than 0.004% of the social assistance budget.
Over 99.5% of the social grants budget is spent on citizens. Over 99.99% is spent on citizens and permanent residents.
But don't let facts get in the way.

You can tell this one is extremely sheltered and models his entire personality on American Conservatism because nose rings are only liberal or atheist coded in the West. This is what happens when you get your info from Joe Rogan podcasts, conservacuck Twitter accounts & porn.

Uuuuuh “mate”, I never called him a Muslim. I said “Free Palestine retard”, that can be anyone, like a liberal cuck.
Someone whose wife chooses their world view. Now the Haram situation, let’s say they went to Gaza to campaign for freedom there, would she still have a nose ring?

In 2026 the ACDP is still campaigning on making abortion illegal and rolling back LGBT+ protections. There is a Christian anti-LGBT+ conference scheduled in Cape Town for next year. People are not being honest

It's half-true. As the pundits say, it's been a game of two halves. 1994-2010(ish), everything you say is true. The ANC-led government did good things, even great. Since 2010, maybe a couple of years earlier, the stealing and maladministration started to become visible.
This is not an ANC defence post. It's a data post.
For weeks, 30 years of measurable state building has been waved away with anecdotes, potholes and headlines.
So here are the national numbers. Not just Jo'burg. The whole country. 👇🏾
Our population grew from about 40m to 63.5m. Services had to outrun that growth. They did:
• Electricity for lighting: 58% → 95% of households
• Piped water inside the home: 32% → 60%
• Improved sanitation: 62% → 84%
• Adults with no schooling: 19% → 7%
• Degree holders: 649,000 → nearly 3 million
• Black graduates: 188,000 → 1.7 million
• About 5 million housing opportunities delivered
• 26.5 million grant beneficiaries, including nearly 13 million children
• Life expectancy: from about 52 at the height of AIDS to nearly 67, via the world's largest ARV programme
• 8 in 10 South Africans online, nearly 2 mobile connections per person
• A real economy about 85% bigger than in 1994
• 12GW+ of renewables contracted via REIPPPP, a state-designed programme that brought in private capital
None of this was luck. It was built by an ANC-led state, with business at the table, out of a sanctions-era wreckage.
The fatigue is real. Unemployment is real. Failing municipalities are real, and we should say so. But tiredness must not make us blind. Thirty years ago millions had no lights, no water in the yard, no access to basic healthcare. Today they do. Whoever tells you nothing changed wants you to hate your own progress.
A pothole trends for three days. 5 million housing opportunities never trend at all. Both are facts. Only one gets counted.
To business: this market was built here. Talking it down is not analysis. It's a short position on your own balance sheet.
Lies have short legs. I'm ready for the debate. Which of these numbers do you dispute? Reply with your source.

A Christian comes up to you on campus, insists you let them preach to them, doubles down when you tell them you’re an atheist and not interested, and this behaviour is perfectly acceptable. And turns around and cries when other religions exist in public. The entitlement is insane

It is. And taking what the British did to us, and what we then took out on our Black South African brethren, as our own 'Never Again', instead of being terminally bitter about it. Dis verby.

Completely agree. They're imperfect - everyone is - but in terms of delivering for ordinary people, they've outclassed a great many Western govts with a much bigger revenue base. And they've largely stuck to constitutionalism and respect for human rights while doing it.

Loudly opposes abortion and LGBT+ rights, ignores Christian countries like Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania, etc that jail LGBT+ groups & the Christian groups pushing back against LGBT+ rights, & still acts like intolerance exists in other religions only. Dishonest & tiring

Corporate greed is Microsoft making $134 billion in profits last year, receiving $19 billion in tax breaks under Trump, paying a lower federal income tax rate than a nurse and getting rid of 60,000 workers.
“Corporations will create jobs if they get tax breaks” is a total scam.

Article in the Daily Maverick by Deon Snyman, one of our active participants.
"I find it troubling to think about what black South Africans must be making of the way Afrikaners are increasingly being portrayed internationally.
We seem to be presented as a community living in fear, struggling to survive in a country that has turned against us. Having spent much of my working life involved in reconciliation and community development, I worry about what this might be doing to relationships that have taken decades to build."
