On Friday, Governor Newsom signed AB 260 into law — landmark legislation that expands shield laws and critical privacy protections for patients and providers. This bill is a monumental step forward, and a roadmap for other states to follow. bit.ly/46JCAGG #abortion

Today’s extradition order from a prosecutor with an anti-abortion agenda is the latest escalation in an ongoing state-sponsored effort to prosecute safe and effective healthcare. ACT has and continues to stand behind shield laws across the country. theactgroup.org/post/stateme…

🚨 Since the overturn of Roe v. Wade, we've seen escalating attempts to harass healthcare providers who offer abortion care. Today, ACT was proud to stand alongside as S36A was signed into law, which gives an important level of protection for abortion providers.
Moments ago, I signed a new law protecting New York doctors who prescribe abortion medication. No doctor should go to jail for providing basic reproductive health care. Some states want to prosecute our providers -- but I'll fight like hell to protect them.

The right to make decisions about our bodies isn't just a slogan – it's a human right that requires active protection through thoughtful legislation. Thank you to @GovKathyHochul, @ShelleyBMayer, @KarinesReyes87, @ReproRights, and the tireless advocates that made today possible.

The case out of Louisiana against a licensed NY doctor is the latest in a series of threats that jeopardizes women’s access to reproductive healthcare across the country. This state-sponsored effort to prosecute a doctor providing safe, effective care should alarm everyone. 🧵

The New York Shield Law, passed with the help of ACT in 2023, and Shield Laws across the country enable licensed healthcare professionals to successfully deliver reproductive healthcare to patients in under resourced areas nationwide. ACT stands behind these laws.

It’s no secret the United States has a history of violence and harassment against abortion providers. Make no mistake, since Roe v Wade was overturned, we've witnessed a disturbing pattern of interference with women’s rights.

A lot is at stake given the results of the election. " A Trump administration could sharply restrict or ban medication abortion by enforcing an interpretation of the long-dead Comstock Act" according to ACT's co-founder and executive director @Msjuliekay

While we are saddened by the election of Donald Trump, we take heart in knowing that Americans overwhelmingly support abortion rights and access to vital reproductive health care for all.

Today marks 2 years since the Dobbs v Jackson decision that changed the reproductive health access landscape. Telemedicine has created an avenue to keep abortion care accessible in all 50 states. Thanks to the #wecount study we know that 19% of abortion care is via telemedicine
