The same man kissed the Cross from the late Patriarch Abune Antonios before deposing him, jailing him for 16 years, and letting him die under arrest. Devotion, pfdj - style. Eritrea
When a dictator who has spent decades imprisoning priests, silencing the Church, crushing the faithful, and ruling through fear suddenly bows his head inside a church pretending to show humility before God, it is not an act of faith but a calculated performance — a cynical lie designed to deceive the people into believing he stands close to the holy, while the truth is that he has trampled everything the Church represents: love, justice, and human dignity; he weaponizes religion to hide his crimes, yet no prayer can wash away the tears of mothers whose children disappeared into nameless prisons, no icon can cover the silence of the priests he forced into submission, and no cross can save him from the justice that will one day rise from the very people he tries to control with fear and fake devotion.

For 30 years, disabled veterans sacrificed their limbs in the name of the Eritrean people’s independence. Yet Wedi Memhir reportedly shot and killed 71 fighters on the road at Mai Hab ar after they confronted him, saying they were hungry and had been given too little food.

Holy shit! #PFDJ is just dead!
Not a single youth, not even one!
As much as I hate the old bastards in this gathering, it is pleasing to see that the new generation has moved on!

The Eritrean diaspora's involvement in their homeland's affairs has evolved into a well-structured, purposeful movement, reflecting both deep commitment and strategic organisation. For over fifty years, they have played a critical role in supporting the EPLF throughout its protracted struggle for independence from Ethiopian rule. Their contributions were not limited to financial assistance; they also provided essential resources, mobilisation efforts, and advocacy on international platforms, which bolstered the EPLF's cause. Additionally, during the border conflict that erupted with Ethiopia in 1998, the diaspora’s support proved invaluable. They galvanised community resources and rallied international sympathy to uphold Eritrea’s sovereignty amidst external aggression. Today, in the face of renewed hostilities and military campaigns from Ethiopia, the Eritrean diaspora continues to demonstrate its unwavering resolve. They are actively participating in efforts to counter such aggression, showing their readiness to defend Eritrea’s territorial integrity and national identity with the same fervour as during the independence struggle. This collective action reflects their enduring connection to their homeland and their commitment to a stable, secure future for the Eritrean people. #EmbassyMedia

A so-called researcher shielding Asmara’s brutal dictatorship with fabricated national emergencies: the same tool #PFDJ uses to hold #Eritreans under silent genocide.
There is no nation or state to defend when its people face genocide. The choice is #PFDJ (genocide ) or freedom.
Eritreans like Rahel here are betting on post-colonial order & permanency of the nation-state. Bad bet. States aren’t sacred or eternal—they merge, split, expand, or collapse. Norms protecting them are fading fast, & raw power matters more than ever. These facts should keep Eritreans up at night, especially knowing they stole 1388 miles of Red Sea coast from Ethiopia.🇪🇹⚔️🇪🇷

#Eritrea's regime current statement reads: "The sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the State of Eritrea are non-negotiable, inviolable, and sacrosanct. Under no circumstances will Eritrea compromise or negotiate upon its sovereign domain."
But Isaias, who treats the country as his private property, stated publicly in 2018, during his honeymoon period with Abiy, that Eritrea and #Ethiopia were one, and one cannot speak of a border between them, and asked Abiy to lead both of them and be his FM. Abiy did exactly that and brought the regime back from its isolation and asked for UN sanctions to be lifted and gave new life to the regime.
His ambassador in Nairobi, Beyene Russom, posted, stating that Isaias has been struggling for this since 1965 (implying for unity of Ethiopia and Eritrea). The post was later deleted, but I saved it before deletion.

News: #Eritrea tells #US there is no “crisis” between Ethiopia and Eritrea
Addis Abeba - Eritrea’s Ambassador to the #United_Nations, Sophia Tesfamariam, has told senior US diplomats that there is no “crisis” between Ethiopia and Eritrea, while urging #Washington and other international actors to address what she described as threats to Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a statement posted on X on 20 October, Sophia said she held “constructive engagements” with #Mike_Waltz, the US permanent representative to the UN, and #Jeffrey_Bartos, the US representative to the UN for Management and Reform, to discuss developments in the Horn of Africa and present Asmara’s position on the region’s deteriorating security situation.

Sultan Ahmed Alimirah Hanfare, the 15th Sultan of the #Afar Sultanate's Statement on the current ongoing war in #Ethiopia.
"This is not our war. Once again, ordinary Afars are sent to fight and die for the political gains of others. The Afars are the most disadvantaged and economically neglected ethnic group in Ethiopia. They should not be sent, nor should they go to a war they have no part of."
"No one wins this war. Yesterday’s enemies become today’s allies, and new alliances are formed, but the graves of our people remain. Atrocities of previous wars do not vanish simply because the political wind changes. Yesterday’s agony cannot be rewritten as today’s forgotten history, nor should the blood of Afar civilians be traded for the shifting convenience of temporary alliances. The war crimes committed and those responsible have yet to face justice."
