The most dramatic blue hour I've witnessed at Top Withens. Mist is often described as a cloak but this was more like a delicate chiffon veil that slid slowly over the hills from the west, gently caressing their contours. It was simply awe-inspiring & I felt privileged to see it.

A Good View of the Pennines. This view of Nook Farm on Crimsworth Dean, was the subject of several paintings by Peter Brook, the Pennine Painter and, with the exception of the walls on the left having collapsed, has changed little in the intervening years.

One of my favourite shots from a few months ago. Biblical light over Bradford.

A cooler autumn morning in Brontë Country. Golden light and a distinct chill in the air.

Just 4 miles from Haworth (as the crow flies), Yorkshire’s largest boulder, the Hitching Stone marks the point where West Yorkshire meets North Yorkshire and Lancashire.

A classic red telephone box in Heptonstall, remarkably still contains a working telephone. Hard to think now that this icon of the British landscape was generally considered to be an eyesore when it was first introduced in the 1930s. A big thank you to the passing taxi driver...

It's Yorkshire Day and the heather is in bloom - It doesn't get much better than this! I'll be celebrating later with pie & peas and pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord, followed by a slice of curd tart and a cup of Yorkshire Tea. Happy Yorkshire Day.

30th July - Happy Wuthering Heights Day, the joint birthday of Emily Brontë and Kate Bush. Top Withins, high on the moors above Haworth, is believed to have been Emily Brontë’s inspiration for the location of Wuthering Heights.
