I was right, and of course the AHSAA just silently updated their tiebreakers in the sports book. Take note if you've been trying to figure out scenarios...
Something I noticed when looking at the tiebreakers in the AHSAA sports book, I think there is an error.
In the picture, you'll see Tiebreaker M's verbiage is the same as the second part of all other tiebreakers. The specifics over Tiebreaker L (the most widely used non-region tiebreaker in a 3+ team tie) were updated late to show how private schools are applied to this tiebreaker, and I think they accidentally made the "if two teams tie for the highest winning percentage" part it's own tiebreaker instead of just tacking it on at the end of L.
I'd be glad for the AHSAA or someone else to correct me, but I believe the next tiebreaker should be what is N (which should be M and everything else shifted up). This has already come up in one scenario.

Thompson has announced they will not play a Week 10 game due to Choctawhatchee still experiencing effects from the hurricane last weekend.
As it relates to the playoffs, it now makes a potential 3-way tie for first very interesting if Vestavia defeats Prattville. Thompson/Vestavia will only have two non-region wins (while Prattville could have 3), but the quality of all of those wins varies to ultimately potentially equal very similar numbers based on the AHSAA tiebreakers. We've got it broken down here: rankings.alpreps.com/bracket…
5A is done. I'll get to the other classifications throughout the weekend.
6 region titles are clinched before the final week of region play. Teams in red are locked into that seed.

We are working our way through bracketology this weekend, but 6A is done. Last night's results has set up some interesting paths. We could have:
- Thompson's first playoff game be against Hoover, Prattville's first against Hewitt-Trussville
- Spain Park play James Clemens twice in 3 weeks (and three straight games against Region 4)
- Central and Auburn could match-up against their opponents from yesterday as their first playoff games (which they won a combined 108-14)
- Central/Vestavia in quarters then Central/Thompson rematch in semis
- Prattville/Thompson rematch is the favorite for the state championship....in Mobile.
We'll see how it plays out!
Everything is finally updated! Sorry for the delay - between the weather impacted games and the holiday weekend, things got behind.

Jacksonville High School has been fined and placed on probation for violating AHSAA recruiting rules. As a result:
- Any students in violation of the rule will be deemed permanently ineligible at Jacksonville
- Head coach Jeremy Sullivan and assistant Phileepae Holloway are suspended from coaching in the AHSAA for one year
- Jacksonville football will be placed on restrictive probation for 2026 (they can play their 10-game regular season schedule, but barred from the postseason).
- Games against Jacksonville will not count (so all 4A Region 6 games will not count against them, nor any tiebreakers since they are ineligible for championship play)
- Jacksonville must forfeit all games won that ineligible students participated in.
