Monste Alvarado, new prefect of Vatican's Dicastery for Communication, greets journalists in 4 languages today during a briefing on the papal trip to South America. Starts with Spanish (she was born in Mexico City), says she learns Italian and asks for patience, then moves on to say in English you don't have to be sorry to be an American anymore in the Vatican, and at the end greets French journalists in a language she also speaks fluently.

Since Ricardo Coronado-Arrascue is in the "news" at LSN, I'll mention my own experience with him. I was an employed canonist in the Archdiocese of Denver when he was JV of Colorado Springs. He frequently complained about my involvement in archdiocesan affairs, because of my lay status. I recall once a meeting he refused to attend because the discussion should be "just priests." for whatever it's worth.
'He is a Liar': Archbishop Who CANCELED Fr. Ripperger Called Out Msgr. Ricardo Coronado-Arrascue says Archbishop Golka, who silenced Fr. Ripperger, pressured him out of his diocesan roles then publicly framed it as mutual—calling him a liar.

This is it. Finally. No, for reals. I think. I thought I said goodbye filming my last day on-camera in the @thechosentv. Days later, I thought I said farewell again, as we wrapped the entire series itself on our sound stage, despite knowing that marketing days were still ahead. But this Sunday, it was evident in my bones that not only had I spoken my last speech… not only had we filmed our last shot… but this would be my final day on the hallowed ground that connected me to the television series that changed my life, for what may be the rest of my life (but only God really knows). This moment I share with you here is part of the culmination of not only the last eight years playing the Savior of the world, but the last twelve years playing Him as part of my creative collaboration with the show’s visionary creator, Dallas Jenkins. To have the divine blessing of working on a show for eight years, and then to be gifted this cherry on top — walking onto set as Christ, to be captured on film by one of the great masters of the photographic arts, Annie Leibovitz, while listening to John Debney’s haunting score fill the spaces of the set — was at once transcendent and otherworldly. I was, for a moment, completely speechless. Seems to be a theme for me this past month. I cannot stress to you the profound beauty and brilliance of the compositions that Annie, her team, and our cast and team have had the opportunity to create together. A divine collaboration, if ever there was one. And I cannot wait for you to see the fruit of our intense labor, beginning with Season 6 (on @primevideo Nov 15) and continuing through the release of the final images from these shoots. Our week creating these stills was a reality that my castmates and I could scarcely wrap our minds around. God, in His goodness, is profoundly mysterious and deliberately sweet. The thank-you’s He’s given us in these final moments of the most important series of our lives are beyond anything any of us could have even imagined. I do hope you’ll join us this season as we enter into the end of this story… which ultimately is the beginning of another. I will write more as I am able. I just need a moment in between the chaos to catch my breath. Love and Blessings, - JR 🙏🏽♥️✝️

Word has just come down that St. Paul’s Cathedral in London—the second most important church in the Anglican world—has imitated Canterbury Cathedral in permitting “raves,” nightclub-like entertainments, to take place in its confines. The usual reasons for acquiescing to this have been trotted out: reaching out to the young, trying to get with the times, etc. But this development simply shows that the leadership of the Church of England has lost any sense of the crucial distinction between the sacred and the secular. Across the centuries and across the cultures, our ancestors seem to have intuitively grasped the importance of this demarcation. Whereas the secular is the arena of ordinary experience and activity, the sacred is another realm, a different dimension. Accordingly, in the properly sacred space, one is lifted out of the conventional and introduced into the numinous. This is why Christian cathedrals are filled with images of the saints and angels and why their interiors are meant first to disorient us and then to reorient us toward the divine. It is also why, in the initiation rituals of primal peoples, a young person is purposely ripped out of the ordinary and introduced into the mythic and mystic dimension. And it is why, throughout the Bible, sacred spaces are carefully set apart from common spaces. The contemporary West is, quite literally, the first culture in human history that is in danger of collapsing the sacred into the secular, or better, losing any sense of the difference between the two. This is doing enormous damage, especially to young people, whose lives have been flattened into a preoccupation with money, worldly success, and material things. The Church indeed should go out into the secular space to find those who have wandered away from God, but it should then lead those wanderers back to the holy. Having “raves” in the nave of one of the most sacred spaces in the Christian world is, I’m sad to say, another sign of our pitiful surrender to ideological secularism.

Preach!
I have been pregnant 6 times. I have had postpartum depression twice. I have been a therapist for over 20 years and specializing in reproductive mental health for over 11 years. Postpartum depression is due to a combination of hormones, sleep deprivation, and a lack of social support. Postpartum psychosis is by far the most dangerous and difficult diagnosis I have ever worked with or watched someone suffer from. Over 60% of maternal mortality is postpartum mental health crisis. Your irresponsible and uneducated tweet could end up truly harming a mother and child should anyone believe you and fail to recognize the reality and severity of postpartum mental health crisis. No, your weak attempt to qualify this with "A lot", "much" or "not just moms" doesn't undo the damage such an uneducated take does. You have a platform for a reason. Do better.

I’ve always believed that the answer to confusion in the Church is never to leave the Church. That doesn’t mean we ignore wounds, liturgical abuses, poor leadership, or legitimate disagreements. The Church has endured all of those before, and she will again. But Christ did not promise us perfect shepherds. He promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church. I am grateful for Pope Leo XIV’s letter today. It is not a political statement. It is the plea of a spiritual father who recognizes the sincere love for Tradition found among many in the SSPX while also reminding us that unity is not optional. Tradition and communion were never meant to be separated. His words struck me deeply: “To tear the seamless garment of Christ is a sin of extreme gravity.” For those who love reverent liturgy—particularly the Traditional Latin Mass—this should be a moment of examination rather than entrenchment. Fidelity to Tradition has always included fidelity to Peter. Throughout history, the saints reformed the Church from within. They suffered. They prayed. They remained. The answer has never been separation. It has always been sanctity. May we pray for Pope Leo XIV. May we pray for the bishops, priests, and faithful of the SSPX. And may we pray that every Catholic, regardless of liturgical preference, grows in both truth and communion. “That they may all be one.” (John 17:21) ✝️🙏

Great storytelling doesn’t need a label to resonate. We were proud to handle PR for @JonathanRoumie at the premiere of Solo Mio Solo Mio is a smart, lighthearted rom-com that proves uplifting, values-driven entertainment can be broadly appealing—and a lot of fun—without being explicitly faith-based. This is the kind of quality storytelling audiences are craving. In theaters February 6🎟️🎬 #SaveTheRomCom #SoloMioMovie #QualityEntertainment

Pope Leo XIII. Born in 1810, he was head of the Catholic Church from 20th February 1878 until his death on 20th July 1903. Filmed here in 1896, he is likely the earliest born person ever filmed.

I tell you what, I took my kids to the movies last weekend and saw this trailer and almost had tears in my eyes. I was shocked to see a film about Jesus Christ like this coming out for kids — and if you haven’t seen the trailer, it’s really nice. My kids were asking me questions, it was a sweet moment… and they asked to see it so I’m taking them this weekend. I was not surprised to learn that it was made by Angel Studio’s, the same studio that made Sound of Freedom. We need more movies like this… seriously.. especially for young people. Anyone else taking their kids? @AngelStudiosInc great job
