Reminder for the retards: no one forced russia or the soviets to invade another country. Not in 1939 when the soviets invaded Poland and Finland. Not in 1940 when the soviets occupied and annexed Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Not in 1956 when soviet tanks crushed Hungary. Not in 1968 when soviet-led Warsaw Pact forces invaded Czechoslovakia. Not in 1979 when the soviets invaded Afghanistan. Not in 1992 when russian forces directly intervened in Moldova’s Transnistria conflict. Not in 2008 when russian forces went deep into Georgia and occupied Georgian territory. Not in 2014 when russia seized and annexed Crimea and intervened militarily in eastern Ukraine. And not in 2022 when russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
And spare me the bullshit about russian “security guarantees” and promises.
In 1975, the soviets signed the Helsinki Final Act, committing themselves to the non-use of force, the inviolability of borders, territorial integrity and non-intervention.
In 1991, russia joined the Alma-Ata Declaration recognising the territorial integrity of the former soviet republics and the inviolability of their existing borders.
In 1994, russia signed the Budapest Memorandum, explicitly promising to respect Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and existing borders and to refrain from the threat or use of force against it. Then it seized Crimea in 2014.
In 1997, russia signed the Treaty of Friendship with Ukraine, recognising the inviolability of their existing borders, renouncing territorial claims and committing itself to non-use of force.
In 1999, russia committed at the OSCE Istanbul summit to withdraw its remaining forces from Moldova by the end of 2002. It did not.
In 2003, russia signed a treaty formally establishing and recognising the russia-Ukraine state border.
In 2008, russia accepted the six-point Georgia ceasefire requiring russian forces to withdraw to the positions they held before hostilities. The Council of Europe subsequently documented delays and failures in implementing those obligations.
If you believe anything russia says, you are either paid by russia, retarded, or both.

❗️“We know who you really are, Vladimir Putin. Your economy is in a miserable state. We will strangle your war machine. To China and India: you had better correct your behavior. Buy your oil and gas elsewhere. Appeasement is not a strategy. To the American people: thank you for standing with Ukraine and recognizing that Ukraine’s fight is our fight as well. This is not only about their freedom and independence — it is about ours too.” — Senator Richard Blumenthal

Russia wants to receive another 30,000 troops from North Korea. Since June, preparations have been underway in Russia’s Voronezh region to receive them. North Korea is also preparing to transfer additional launchers for ballistic missiles to Russia.
This is a threat not only to Ukraine. Russia is helping North Korea learn how to wage war, improve its weapons, and gain real combat experience in using them. All of this is a threat to everyone in Asia who is within range of North Korean missiles.

81% of Russians are now saying the "special military operation" is actually not a good thing.
They're not saying this because they feel sorry for Ukrainian civilian casualties or because they resist Russian imperialism.
They resist the war because they're selfish and they're finally losing their luxury products, Botox, social media, internet, and the last shreds of freedom they had.
The war has finally reached Russians.

.@FT Exclusive: Sweden has intelligence indicating that Russia is systematically manipulating data to fool Ukraine’s western allies into believing its economy has withstood the strain of its lavish war spending and western sanctions, Thomas Nilsson, head of Sweden’s Military Intelligence and Security Service, told me and @maxseddon in Stockholm.

And splashdown!
America is back in the business of sending astronauts to the Moon and bringing them home safely.
Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy did an outstanding job. These talented astronauts inspired the world and represented their space agencies and nations as humanity’s ambassadors to the stars.
This was a test mission, the first crewed flight of SLS and Orion, pushing farther into the unforgiving environment of space than ever before, and it carried real risk. They accepted that risk for all we stood to learn and for the exciting missions that follow, as we return to the lunar surface, build a Moon base, and prepare for what comes next.
And they were not alone. The entire NASA workforce, our commercial and international partners, and the hopes and dreams of people all over the world were with them. The astronauts know it, and you should too. This mission would not have been possible without you.
Congratulations. Artemis II, mission accomplished.

The Moon fundamentally changes the game for manned space exploration.
It is a next-level proving ground where astronauts can build habitats, harvest propellant and minerals from the lunar surface, and learn the skills necessary to go onto Mars.

@MikeHaridopolos joins @jsolomonReports and @AmandaHead to highlight the upcoming @NASA Artemis III mission, its historical significance, and the goal of establishing a sustainable human presence on the moon by 2028.
“We’re fulfilling a promise that began more than 35 years ago.”
NASA’s Artemis II mission is not only a “stepping stone” to Mars, says NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, but could also inspire a new generation. “How many kids after this mission are going to dress up as astronauts for Halloween and want to grow up and contribute to this great adventure?”
Ari-Matti Harri retweeted
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman says the primary objective of the Artemis II’s trip around the moon is “to gather data from the ECLSS system, the life support system on the Orion spacecraft,” which will be used in future missions.
“Learning as much as we can about Orion is critically important because Artemis III is a year away,” he says. “That's where we're going to test the same spacecraft with our lunar landers. Followed up in 2028 by Artemis IV, where we're going to use this spacecraft, transfer crew to the landers, and put American astronauts back on the surface of the moon.”
On the shoulders of giants... 🧑🏼🚀
The Artemis II crew aboard Integrity have officially traveled farther into space than any humans before, passing the record set during Apollo. Our live coverage continues:

😁 At Orbán’s campaign rally, the crowd chants “Russians, go home”
“Ruszkik haza” (“Russians, go home”) is a slogan that emerged during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and was directed against Soviet troops.
Seems like the campaign isn’t going quite as planned.
This is great news !

Putting this out here as a sign to tap when folks respond with "things are worse today" or "middle class shrinking" or other wrong ideas they have.
Everyone should internalize and have these charts as core understanding of the world today.
The time price of everything has gone down over this same time frame (see Superabundance).
And while the middle class might technically be smaller, that is only because the upper class is much, much bigger. And fewer of us are in poverty.
Globally, and nationally. Things are better.
