A reminder that Israel has killed or injured over 64,000 children in Gaza since October 2023. The systematic targeting of Palestinian children has been a defining feature of Israel’s genocide. It’s reprehensible to think that no consequences have been imposed for such wanton killing.
Her name was Refeef Lubbad. She was 17, an 11th-grade student, shot and killed as she returned home from school.
You did not, and will not, see a breaking news alert about her killing. The New York Times and other complicit media outlets will not put her face on their front pages. But here, you will see her face and know her name.
May the day come when those who killed Refeef and our families are brought to justice, and when the names of journalists who justified, condoned, or dismissed their deaths as insignificant are displayed on every street, so their complicity is never forgotten.

It’s time for lawmakers to catch up with the vast majority of Americans who no longer want to carry the moral and financial burden of subsidizing Israel’s genocide. Not only is it unpopular to continue arming Israel, it is undemocratic to ignore the will of the American people at the behest of a foreign nation.
NEW POLLS: A majority of likely voters in six states expected to decide control of the US Senate - Georgia, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas - support Senate measures to block the transfer of bombs to Israel.
Our new polling, conducted by @YouGov, was first announced on today's episode of Pod Save The World with @TVietor08 and @brhodes and sampled over 3,200 voters from September 25 to October 14.

Israel’s genocidal playbook in Gaza is as clear as day: destroy everything, dismantle institutions meant to sustain life, and punish those who simply wish to return to what remains of their land.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: UN abandons Rafah crossing as Israel arrests Palestinians returning to Gaza
The UN informed Palestinian officials that it will stop receiving Palestinians returning from Egypt and coordinating their entry into Gaza starting in mid-November, citing the dangers facing returnees and repeated Israeli arrests, a senior Palestinian source involved in negotiations told Drop Site News.
The decision follows Israel’s arrest of a Palestinian cancer patient and her daughter on Tuesday, the same day Rafah reopened after a roughly 10-day suspension triggered by the detention of another returnee.
“The United Nations will ask the parties concerned to provide an alternative entity to assume this responsibility; however, its withdrawal will proceed regardless of whether an alternative is secured,” the source told Drop Site.
Finding a replacement will be difficult, the source said, as transporting returnees requires coordination with Israel and passage through dangerous areas within the Yellow and Red Line zones. The Red Cross may be the only alternative, but its Gaza office previously declined, the source said saying the task fell outside its mandate.
Nearly all Palestinians who leave Gaza through the Rafah crossing are medical evacuees and their companions through a process that is facilitated by the UN.
While the UN will continue to facilitate medical evacuations, its decision to stop receiving Palestinians entering Gaza could affect the entire operation of the crossing, the source said, as Egypt might not agree to accept medical evacuees leaving Gaza unless they are allowed to return. Under a negotiated agreement, the number of Palestinians allowed to return into Gaza must equal the number allowed to leave.
“Maybe the Egyptians will say if no one is allowed to return, we will also not be part of, of receiving one from Gaza, which means at the end that the whole process is blocked,” the source said.
The deliberate deprivation of food, medical care, and the means of survival is itself an aspect of genocide.
As an occupying power, Israel is legally obligated to ensure Palestinians in Gaza have access to adequate food, medicine, and other supplies essential for survival. Instead, Israel and the so-called “Board of Peace” are pursuing policies that further impoverish Palestinians and deprive them of the basic necessities of life.
🔴 Funding shortages are forcing WFP to reduce life-saving assistance in Gaza as winter approaches.
Urgent support is needed to keep reaching the most vulnerable.

We condemn the brutal attack on photojournalist Heidi Levine by Israeli settlers and wish her a full and speedy recovery.
Attacks on American citizens will continue as long as the U.S. government provides Israel with unconditional military and political support while shielding it from accountability. This impunity has emboldened Israeli settlers and occupation forces. We implore the State Department and Ambassador Huckabee to end this pattern and impose meaningful consequences on those responsible.
Regardless of what Trump thinks, Muslims have a right to be politically engaged. No one's race or religion should be used as a tool to alienate them from participating in our so-called democracy.
We unequivocally stand in solidarity with @Ilhan, @AbdulElSayed, and others attacked by this administration. The vilification of Muslims, the weaponization of our identities, and the deliberate mockery of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) name are repugnant and should not be accepted by anyone.

Yesterday, the Trump admin celebrated one year of its alleged “Gaza peace summit.” At the same time, Israel burned a mother alive, leaving behind her 4 year old daughter. There has been no “peace.” Israel has continued its genocide unabated, targeting and killing Palestinians.
A young girl was rescued from her burning home, narrowly avoiding the flames after an Israeli strike on the Rimal neighbourhood of Gaza City on October 14. At least one person was killed and multiple people injured in the strike. Local sources also reported intense Israeli artillery fire and heavy gunfire from military vehicles east of Khan Younis, Deir al Balah, and other areas across Gaza
“Remembering Wadee is not enough. America must confront a difficult question: what have we learned from this tragedy? The answer appears to be nothing at all.
We are now three years into a genocide in which the U.S. has given Israel billions to kill and maim Palestinian children across Gaza and the West Bank.
President Trump has also used ‘Palestinian’ as a racial pejorative against political opponents. Our government’s foreign policy and personal beliefs are reflected by its horrid treatment of Palestinians.
Until Washington sees our people as humans and imposes consequences for Israel’s crimes, both Palestinians and Palestinian-Americans will continue to have a target on their backs.” @DrAbuIrshaid, AMP Executive Director.

Israel’s assault on Palestinian life extends far beyond its military violence. It is a deliberate effort to destroy every facet of Palestinian existence.
Al Jazeera’s @nida_journo reports from Ramallah in the occupied West Bank where Israeli forces raided several NGOs, including the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees and a prison support and human rights association.
They also stormed the courtyard of a government hospital.

AMP Executive Director @DrAbuIrshaid: “We unequivocally condemn the Trump administration’s sanctions against the International Criminal Court (ICC). This latest escalation is a direct assault on international law and an attempt to dismantle one of the few institutions capable of holding perpetrators of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide accountable.
The Trump administration continues to weaponize American power to obstruct justice and shield Israeli officials from accountability for their crimes against the Palestinian people. These sanctions further entrench U.S. complicity in Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, stand at odds with the views of a growing number of Americans demanding accountability, and undermine both the nation’s interests and its credibility on the world stage.
History will remember those who chose to protect perpetrators rather than pursue justice for their victims.”
The Trump administration imposed sweeping sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC), potentially cutting off its banking, insurance and software services.
The move comes amid U.S. anger over ICC arrest warrants for Israeli officials, including Netanyahu, and a previous investigation into U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the ICC a “rogue court” and warned: “Either the ICC will end its threats, or we will end the ICC.” He urged U.S. allies to pressure the court into meeting Washington’s demands.
The sanctions were announced hours after former ICC judge Navi Pillay won the Nobel Peace Prize for her work in international criminal justice.

How many more Palestinian journalists must be beaten, arbitrarily detained, tortured, or killed before the world takes meaningful action to protect them and hold Israel accountable?
Armed illegal Israeli settlers on Tuesday beat an AFP photographer, leaving him requiring hospital treatment, as he covered the ongoing violence by settlers against Palestinian olive farmers in the occupied West Bank.
Jaafar Ashtiyeh, 58, a veteran photographer for the international news agency in the Palestinian territory, had tried to rush into a car for safety but two men tackled him down and clobbered him with their rifle butts, according to witnesses, his family and fellow journalists.
The violence took place despite the presence of at least a dozen fully equipped Israeli soldiers around 500 metres away, according to witnesses.
"We strongly condemn yet another serious attack on journalists trying to report on events in the West Bank and demand a full investigation. It is unacceptable that journalists can be beaten and robbed by armed settlers in front of Israeli security forces who made no attempt to intervene," said Phil Chetwynd, AFP's global news director.
The Foreign Press Association, which represents international media in Israel and Palestine, urged Israel to “investigate why soldiers present in the area did not intervene in this attack against clearly identified journalists."
This is the direct consequence of decades of impunity, sustained by a United States that continue to arm, fund, and shield Israel from accountability while Palestinians pay the price.
69 Palestinians were displaced Tuesday after Israeli authorities demolished their residential building in East Jerusalem – the highest number displaced in a single demolition there since UN records began in 2009.

Israel continues to systematically target the few journalists who remain in Gaza. It is because of these courageous journalists, who continue reporting at unimaginable risk to themselves and their families, that the world has borne witness to Israel’s brutality against the Palestinian people.
🚨BREAKING: Palestinian journalist Mohammed Al-Najjar was killed today in Khan Younis after an Israeli strike hit his hometown of Khuza’a, south of Gaza Strip.
He leaves behind three children who were waiting for their father to return. They were denied even a final farewell after his body was returned to his family without his head.
Three years later, Palestinians are still pulling the bodies of their loved ones from Gaza’s rubble.
Palestinians are preparing to bury the remains of 105 people killed in a devastating Israeli attack on Gaza City in October 2023 aje.news/me2s3c
26 years ago today, Israeli occupation forces killed 12 year old Muhammad al-Durrah in Gaza as his father attempted to shield him. Muhammad’s murder is emblematic of Israel’s savage colonial violence which continues to be imposed on Palestinians today.
Today, in a setback for free speech rights, an immigration judge ruled that Salah Sarsour, a Palestinian and Muslim community leader from Milwaukee, is deportable under a widely decried provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act. He will now seek relief from removal as his case continues.
We will continue fighting this McCarthyist attack on our freedoms, both in Salah's case and in the many other cases targeting pro-Palestine activism. This case shows clear, unprecedented deference to a foreign government in our own immigration courts, undermining due process.
