As winter approaches, black bears at Shenandoah National Park are busy packing on the pounds. Acorns are a favorite fall food, providing a calorie-rich feast that helps bears build fat reserves before heading to their dens.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA: A 38-year-old tech executive was arrested outside his California company as federal prosecutors accuse him of helping smuggle more than $300 million in export-controlled computer servers to China.
Video captured Greg Lui being taken into custody in San Gabriel as agents surrounded him and searched his Cybertruck.
Prosecutors allege Lui and his co-conspirators routed high-end servers containing U.S.-made GPUs through countries including Malaysia and Singapore before illegally re-exporting them to China, all as the technology is subject to strict export controls because of its potential national security implications.

Every time you see one of these guys unconscious on the sidewalk or building a nest out of garbage, keep in mind that he will consume four or five times the economic resources you will this year.
People think “homelessness” is a matter of housing, but every time this guy takes a ride in an ambulance, which he probably does every few weeks, it will cost the city six months of your rent.
Hundreds of thousands of tax dollars will be spent on outreach, healthcare, criminal justice response and social services and none of it will do anything.

Department of Justice to Unveil Significant Charges Related to Childcare Fraud in San Diego Tomorrow at 11 AM. I’ll be there.
USA v. Mohamad Salim Alawad and USA v. Mazin Salim Alawad are set to be announced at a federal press conference on childcare fraud.
According to divorce court records I researched, Mohamad claimed he was making $20,000 per month from his daycare.

He also owned Safe Journey Transportation Inc., a non-emergency transportation company, with his brother Mazin, who is also charged. So he had a daycare and a NEMT company.
